What do you do with a bathroom makeover that has a partial onyx wall? I opted for a 'mixed media' approach, using tile and wallpaper to balance and tie in the disjointed use of onyx so it didn't look like we ran out of material or money.

The stark quality of white was softened by bisque-colored sinks, spa tub, and toilet. To provide the couple with double sinks, an extra hole was carved into the delicate double-thick onyx counter top. An ‘onyx-hued’ oak vanity helps to tie in the multi-media décor.

To add graceful curves to the angular space, the spa tub was replaced by one with a curvaceous profile. The short 9’ onyx slab between the wall and vanity top was removed so that the remaining onyx serves to frame the tub.

A cross between shell-shape and burl wood, the wallpaper pattern mirrors the curvilinear lines of the onyx and bubble tile, serving to tie together the entire space.
