This article is a follow-up to the sermon message of June 11th. If you were not at Living Savior that day, it’s a taste of what I shared with everyone. If you were there, it’s another reminder of what we are called to do as God’s messengers of the Gospel. When Jesus said, “Go and make disciples,” He was commissioning the disciples there that day and us as well to start right where we are right now. What He means is, “As you live your everyday life, tell about Me.” This actually means making a huge shift in thinking compared to what we have often understood as “mission work.” Yes, 16 of us from here at Living Savior and 8 from Living Word in The Woodlands have just returned from a “mission trip.” And yes, the love of Christ was shared with many people in Puerto Rico through blood (not much), sweat (lots) and tears (some), but the real impact of a trip like this is what is brought home: eyes, ears, hearts and minds ready to share the Good News with people right here in our own community as we “live our everyday lives.” It is my prayer that as many of you as possible will be able to experience the joys and challenges of a far-away mission trip. However, my more urgent prayer is that you see that it doesn’t take a trip at all to be on mission for the Gospel. It’s just a matter of living out your call as a follower of Jesus wherever you may be. What He means is, “As you live your everyday life, tell about Me.”  This actually means making a huge shift in thinking compared to what we have often understood as “mission work.”  Yes, 16 of us from here at Living Savior and 8 from Living Word in The Woodlands have just returned from a “mission trip.”  And yes, the love of Christ was shared with many people in Puerto Rico through blood (not much), sweat (lots) and tears (some), but the real impact of a trip like this is what is brought home:  eyes, ears, hearts and minds ready

to share the Good News with people right here in our own community as we “live our everyday lives.”   It is my prayer that as many of you as possible will be able to experience the joys and challenges of a far-away mission trip.  However, my more urgent prayer is that you see that it doesn’t take a trip at all to be on mission for the Gospel.  It’s just a matter of living out your call as a follower of Jesus wherever you may be.  (Matthew 28:18-19)

Important InformationCoupons for Military

FamiliesDid you know that overseas military members can use expired coupons up to SIX months past their

expiration date?  Military families stationed overseas are often living on one income and money can be scarce.  Let's support our military by showing them some coupon love!

*Bring in only manufacturers coupons (DO NOT bring store or restaurant coupons).      *Clip your coupons OR bring the whole flier and someone will clip them for you.     *DO NOT send coupons that are over 30 days expired.

Eye Glass MissionTrinity Klein Lutheran Church’s global mission, Trinity Ablaze in Kenya, sends missionaries to Kenya yearly to provide eye care, glasses and spread God’s love.  We are in need of old eye glasses and fabric scraps to make eye glass cases to be taken to Kenya.  If you have any bright colored, bold printed, medium to heavy weight cotton or cotton blend fabric scraps, 7 1/2" x 9" or larger that you would be willing to donate, please place them in the fellowship hall on top of the large wooden donation box. If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Linda Mattfeld for more information.

Altar GuildSeeking women who are willing to serve the Lord and Living Savior by taking care of altar preparations for worship at the 10:45 service.  Training will be provided and is not difficult.  The initial preparations for both setting up and taking down does not require more than 15 minutes on average. Please consider joining us as we serve the Lord at His altar.  Contact Cyndy Reneau at [email protected] or 832-465-4452.

NO Summer Doldrums around Living Savior! We are busy packing and figuring what will go where and how it will get there, while making contingency plans for the many ‘what ifs’ that can go with an expansion/construction project like we are going to experience soon!

The tongue in cheek description of this changing time for us is our “Exile”… Our destination is a short one, just down the sidewalk to the Fellowship Hall. How blessed we are to have such a wonderful location with minimal disruption… and closer to the coffee pot to boot!

There will be some adjustments, twists, and turns and inconveniences, but nothing we cannot handle when we put ourselves in the hands of Him who Stills the Waters, Heals the sick, Forgives our sins, and created and preserves our very beings.

With that being said, there have been huge amounts of time, meetings, planning, discussions, and prayer that have gone into this endeavor prior to where we are today. We give thanks to God and them for their dedication and service to the Long Range Planning Committee!

Great News! We are blessed to welcome Cyndy Reneau as the new Altar Guild Leader! Tasks will be distributed among a number of ladies. We do need for more to serve on Sunday mornings preparing the communion elements. The most common phrase after being trained for this meaningful opportunity is “Is this all there is to it? I thought it would be hard!” So, even if you can only help out once a month or every other month, you will be welcomed. Contact Cyndy at [email protected]. Help is needed and would be appreciated for either service! The time involved is no more than 15 minutes before and 15 minutes

after one service. Thanks in advance for answering this call to serve in this important way. You will be blessed and you will be a blessing!

For those interested, on Sunday, July 2nd, there will be a short time of singing patriotic songs beginning at 7:50 and 10:35 a.m. (10 minutes before service times.) The Sermon title is Let Freedom Ring… This would be a good day to wear red, white, and blue, and be sure to join us in a yummy hot dog lunch after the late service in the Fellowship Hall!

The PRAYER emphasis for this month is for our NATION. Check out 2Chronicles 7:14 below.

Succeeding Sunday messages will be: Learning from Jesus to Live Lightly, God’s Purpose for Your Life, and Chosen and Treasured.

Please bring your bulletins from churches where you worship this summer and give to Judy, Velma, Helga, Tom/Nancy, Ron, Peter, Lisa, or Pastor. You would be surprised to know the ideas we use from them!
