Second Sunday of Easter

Once I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever.

— Revelation 1:18a

Message from Fr. Peter Escalante Warm greetings as we continue to rejoice in the Risen Lord!

What a wonderful weekend we celebrated as our Easter Triduum liturgies built up to our grand Easter celebrations! In spite of the challenges with parking, there was a great deal of excitement in the air and we were blessed with a beautiful, Chamber of Commerce day, enabling us to welcome so many visitors to our Mission!

I wish to express my deep gratitude to the many people who helped to make our Easter celebration so special, particularly those who helped with the liturgies: Musicians, Choir members, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Sacristans and Altar Servers. I would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus, who helped direct traffic, those who decorated the Mission Church and Saint Francis Chapel and the Parish Staff and Maintenance Team for all they do behind the scenes.

Finally, we are so blessed to have two wonderful Associate Pastors, Fr. Bill and Fr. Alex, to lead us in worship and prayer. Thank you and our Deacons for your dedication and inspiration. You’re the best!

May this joyful season be a time of grace and blessing for all!

Alleluia!

Fr. Peter

Celebrating the Docents and Gift Shop Volunteers This weekend marks the 32nd anniversary of the beginning of our present Docent Program and Gift Shop Volunteers. Msgr. I. The first tour was given to fourth graders on April 1, 1984 and the first workers in the Gift Shop began the same day. These ambassadors of the Mission are the first and possibly only contact that most visitors will have with the Mission. We thank these dedicated people for their service.
