The first step towards a greater self...

पहला पग...पहला पग...

While there are 1000s of Coaching Centers available in India to guide students to crack the IIT JEE (Mains & Advanced) there are very few such institutes which channelize students into the National Defense Academy/Naval Academy.

Even these few institutes have been able to get the students to pass the written test of the NDA/NA but they have not been able to ensure the final admission into the academy. This is primarily because they only focus on the academic part and not much on the preparations for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview process. This is because while it is easy to get academic teachers it is not so easy to get officers who have served as Selectors in the services selection boards to groom the students through the SSB process.

AFPA initially started as a center for preparing aspirants to clear the Services Selection Board Interview and has established itself as one of the Premier Institutes in the country.

It is this success that has inspired the thought of “Mission NDA” wherein the students will not only be prepared for the NDA/NA/IIT JEE (Mains) but will also be groomed systematically over two years for clearing the SSB Interview. Hence, AFPA blends the two essentials namely the preparations for the written test conducted by the UPSC and clearing the SSB Interview.

Mission NDA 2021 is about selecting 70 trainable boys of class 10th from across the country and preparing them meticulously over two years to ensure they join the National Defence Academy / Indian Naval Academy / Officers Training Academy (Army) as officer cadets just after they qualify 12th board examination.

Conventional career options like Engineering and Medicine has reached saturation levels. Except for the IITs and IIMs, most of the alumni of the other professional colleges are finding it extremely difficult to find a job worthy of their technical qualifications. In fact a leading HR consultant has stated that more than 80 % of the graduating engineers are not employable and this has created tremendous dilemma in the minds of parents and budding aspirants who are at the cross roads of their life. Admission to NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY AND NAVAL ACADEMY after 10 + 2; not only ensures a respectable and professionally rewarding career but relieves the pressure of the parents in finding an appropriate career option for their wards. Unlike the plethora of coaching institutes which have mushroomed in cities for engineering and allied entrance examinations, the existing institutions for preparation of NDA entrance exams are woefully inadequate in sheer numbers and have somehow lost the sheen of its envisaged goals.

ARMED FORCES PREPARATORY ACADEMY (AFPA) has been conceived with the vision of nurturing potential aspirants from an early stage (Class X) and equipping them with the requisite

skills to meet the challenges of the entire spectrum of THE THREE STAGE SELECTION PROCESS. The two year curriculum has been designed to prepare the candidate for the National Defence Academy, NAVAL ACADEMY and JEE (Mains) entrance examinations and in so doing ensure that on successful culmination of their class XII, they directly join the academy.

The focus during this period is to provide quality instruction in academics, while concurrently shaping the overall personality of the student capable of fulfilling the exacting mental, physical and emotional standards required for entry into the defence forces. Towards this end, a state-of-the-art training infrastructure backed by an experienced and dedicated faculty set in a serene and enabling environment free from distractions has been designed at SAONER located about 40 Kms from Nagpur.

The growing AFPA fraternity and the steadily increasing list of successful SSB interviewees is testimony to the single minded devotion and focus of AFPA. We are committed to providing every aspirant the wherewithal, the confidence and courage to achieve his coveted ambition of joining the defence forces as a career professional.GOOD LUCK ! GOD BLESS ! JAI HIND!

Dr. Cdr. N. K Natarajan (Retd.)Founder, AFPA

message from the founder message from the commandant

Professional Soldiering continues to remain the cynosure of a majority of students on the threshold of selecting a career option. The lure of the resplendent uniform, the pride in serving the nation, the unique social status and the unmatchable quality of life is an irresistible and compelling calling for the youth when at an important crossroad of their life.

The only stumbling block is the gross ignorance of the entire selection process and the preparations that go into it; both on the part of the aspirant and the parents. ARMED FORCES PREPARATORY ACADEMY is an ideal interface to bridge this chasm of ignorance. AFPA not only equips the candidate with the requisite skills for the entire selection process but also transforms the entire personality. The course content and structure is designed to prepare the candidate mentally, physically and academically for undergoing the THREE STAGE SELECTION PROCESS without compromising the pedagogy enunciated by the educational board. Nestled in the rural environs of Saoner, located 45 kms from Nagpur, the training infrastructure, set in an ambience ideally suited for academic pursuance, supervised and mentored by experienced and skilled faculty : AFPA provides an enabling and facilitating atmosphere for such an endeavour. I am sanguine that a visit to the location both by parents and student aspirants will strengthen the resolve to join AFPA to fulfil their cherished ambition of joining the forces. I look forward to a healthy interaction and a determined resolve to achieving the stated goals.

GOOD LUCK ! GOD BLESS ! JAI HIND!
