• Low-income students face barriers getting ready for, getting into

and getting through college

• Financial barriers alone prevent nearly one-half of all college-

qualified low- and moderate-income high school graduates from

enrolling in a four-year college

• Annually, 405,000 low-income students prepared to enter a four-

year college will not do so and 170,000 will attend no college at

all

• GAP’s 7th year in existence- served over 1,800 students

• One week residential program (X2) per year

• Goal 1: To support the successful transition of targeted rising 9th graders,

especially AVID students, into the high school environment.

• Goal 2: To make students aware of the school’s AP program, Bright Futures, and

What is the Hillsborough

Scholars Summer Academy?

It is a week-long academic camp for

exceptionally talented rising eighth grade

students in Hillsborough County Public

Schools. Classes are co-taught by

Hillsborough County instructors in

collaboration with University of Tampa

professors.

Reach for College! promotes equity in education by increasing and supporting the number of traditionally disadvantaged students who pursue and complete postsecondary education.

RFC! provides schools with:

• A proven curriculum,

• Ongoing in-class support

*This program gets 73% of students to college from schools where normally only 34% of students go on to receive postsecondary education.

for tuition and fees. Purdue Promise includes institutional aid and Federal Work Study to meet full “financial need.”
