• Rising AVID Sophomores and Juniors
• 120 students per session

• 26.1% of GAP students enroll in upper level courses such as honors and
Advanced Placement compared to 15% of non-GAP students

• Goal 1: To support the successful transition of targeted rising 9th graders,
especially AVID students, into the high school environment.
• Goal 2: To make students aware of the school’s AP program, Bright Futures, and
college/university awareness.
• Goal 3: Ton increase student success in AP Human Geography course and exam
performance.
What is the Hillsborough
Scholars Summer Academy?
It is a week-long academic camp for
exceptionally talented rising eighth grade
students in Hillsborough County Public
Schools. Classes are co-taught by
Hillsborough County instructors in
collaboration with University of Tampa
professors.

MISSION
Reach for College! promotes equity in education by increasing and supporting the number of traditionally disadvantaged students who pursue and complete postsecondary education.

RFC! Curriculum
RFC! provides schools with:
• A proven curriculum,
• Teacher training
• Ongoing in-class support
*This program gets 73% of students to college from schools where normally only 34% of students go on to receive postsecondary education.

• Goal–setting• Making good choices in the here and now• SAT prep• Career exploration and educational planning for that
career• College selection and application done right in class
(for seniors)• Securing financial aid and creating a winning

communication and interviewing skills

Twenty-first Century Scholarship The grant package includes the TfCS scholarship
