• Mireia Belmonte was born in Badalona (Barcelona). She is a swimmer of butterfly and free styles.

• She began to swim when she was four years old. She had “escoliosis” and her doctor recommended her to practice swimming.

• She competed for Club Natacion Badalona and Sabadell.

• In 2006 she was world Champion Junior.• In 2008 she participated in Olympic Games in Pekin.

She was fourteenth.• Then, she broke the records of 400 m and 800 m.• In 2012 she participated in Olympics Games of London.

She got a silver medal in 200 m and other silver medal in 800 m. So that,she is the best Spanish Olympic swimmer.

SWIMMING• Swimming is a very complete sport. It is useful

and healthy. • Swimming is practiced with a swimming cap.

Swimming can be understood like a sport, like an exercise or recreational activity.

• Like sport, you must practise in an olympic swimming-pool after the sound of a whistle.

• There are several styles: butterfly, back and crol.

• Swimmers are resistant people. They control very well their breathing and they are fit.
