Sticking Power. Talon’s double-wall design is a sticky situation. The two metal plates are bonded together with an industrial-strength adhesive that requires 32,000 pounds of force to break. That’s 16 tons, gentlemen. Then, just to be sure, we reinforced them with heavy-duty stainless steel bolts.

Are You Mounting on the Port or Starboard Side?

You can mount Talon on either side of your outboard, but we recommend the port side for maximum clearance between Talon and the outboard cowling.

Do You Need an Adapter Bracket?

This depends on whether you have a flat or curved transom. If you have a flat transom, we recommend mounting Talon directly to it (all hardware is included for this). If you have a curved transom, you’ll need an adapter bracket.

How Much Setback Do You Need?

To keep Talon away from any transom-mounted items (such as trim tabs or transducers), you’ll want to set it back 3, 6 or 9 inches. We recommend using the smallest amount of setback possible for optimum performance.
