Specific Responses against the

international crisis

• Although the crisis striked the labor market , the registered employment continues to show growth in inter-annual terms.

• The rate of unemployment didn’t rise, still this is due to the

unregistered employment growth.

• The adjustment of employment is verified more by a contraction of the incorporations than by a arise of the dismissals.

• Around half of the announced dismissals by the enterprises in the last months are in a negotiation processes.

• The characteristics of the current economic and finantial global crisis make difficult to predict its evolution and its impact in different countries.

• Due to this, the importance of the public policies accentuates, in order to mitigate the negative effects on the population and on the internal transmission mechanisms

• There isn’t a unique form of orchestrate the relation between globalization and its social impact : is important to recognize the levels of freedom of the national policies.
