Lesson Plan KLA: Mathematics Date: Topic: Measurement, kg and g Year Level: 3 and 4 Observation and expected outcomes: During maths rotations I observed the students are quite familiar with reading scales, but find it difficult to work with the data they are reading and applying it to other situations. This lesson will combine working with the unit of measurement for mass (kg, g) and applying the concept to real life situations. The students will also be able to practice working with word problems, extracting the important information and applying it. Curriculum outcomes: Attributes, length, mass, area, volume, choosing and using units to measure them. Indicators: Chooses and uses the appropriate metric unit to measure different masses. Can arrange items according to their mass. Lesson Structure
