Jordan Wallace takes command as Wollongong thrash Gold Coast----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Robina,QLD- The Wollongong Miners had not exactly set the world alight this season but they were much too strong for a disappointing Gold Coast outfit on Monday Night Football.

American Wide Receiver Josh Boyce was again the standout with his speed and deep ball receiving that did a lot of damage. "Josh has been a standout all season for us and he was again in great form tonight. He was the difference out there" said Quarterback Jordan Wallace. But more to the point the humble Wallace could really stand up tonight and take a bow. In just his second game for the club Wallace was buys and effective. He was calm and controlled in the huddle. His throws were accurate and he was able to make up plays when the need arose. He finished with 274 yards and three touchdown throws.

On the other side Jake Furmingher slipped back into his horrible worst. He was everything that Wallace was not. He looked indecisive, his accuracy was not there and he made poor decisions. The Ginats had no passing game and no rushing game either and this made for a long night. Wollongong set up an arm wrestle early but then broke clear in the 2nd and third quarters with touchdown passes to Boyce and Nathan Jacks. The Giants got on the board in the 4th but it was just a field goal to Matt Wehbe and Wollongong finished the game off in style when Gareth Lussick caught another 7 pointer in the corner of the end zone.

The biggest issue of the night for Wollongong came at Safety with both Roy Williams (Dislocated shoulder) and Paul Percy (Abdominal tear) leaving the game early.

After the game furious Giant fans called in demanding the resignation of Coach Tony Bell whose future at the Gold Coast is now very clouded indeed.
