The Millennium

A Literal 1,000 years of righteous rule.

Page 2: Millennium

Millennium Characteristics

Evidence for a unique time prior to eternity, yet after 2nd coming.

Page 3: Millennium

The Land Like Eden

• Ezek. 36:34-35, “The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. They will say, ‘This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden’”. (Made desolate at second coming.)

• Isa. 51:3, “The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden”.

Page 4: Millennium

New Creation

Isaiah 66:20–23, “And they will bring all your brothers, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem. . . . And I will select some of them also to be priests and Levites... As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me, declares the Lord, so will your name and descendants endure. From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me, says the Lord.”

Page 5: Millennium

New Creation-2nd Coming

• 2 Peter 3:10+13 states, “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare …But we are looking forward to a new heaven and new earth, the home of righteousness”.

Page 6: Millennium

Twice Shaken

• Hebrews 12:26-28 states, “At that time his voice hook the earth, but now he has promised ‘once more I will shake not only the earth but the heavens.’ The words ‘once more’ indicate the removing of what can be shaken, that is created things- so that what cannot be shaken will remain”. (Christ shakes the earth at the second coming and shortly thereafter will destroy the earth and heavens, but will create something beyond what we could ever imagine!)

Page 7: Millennium

World’s Only Mountain

• Isa. 2:2, “In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.”

• Zech. 14:10, “The whole land From Geba to Rimmon, south of Jesusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raise up and remain in its place”.

Page 8: Millennium

True World Peace

• “Bow and sword and battle I will abolish from the land, so that all may lie down in safety” (Hos. 2:18b).

• “He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth” (Zech. 9:10b).

• “He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire” (Ps. 46:9).

• “He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks” (Mic. 4:3).

Page 9: Millennium

Covenant with Animals

• Hosea 2:16-18, “In that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the creatures that move along the ground.”

• Isaiah 11:6–8, “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest.”

Page 10: Millennium

Farming Utopia

• Malachi 3:11–12, “I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,’ says the Lord Almighty. Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the Lord Almighty.”

Page 11: Millennium

Continuous Crops

• Amos 9:13, “The days are coming, declares the Lord, when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills. I will bring back my exiled people Israel.”

Page 12: Millennium

Aging in Millennium

• Isaiah 65:20, “Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.”

• Isa. 11:6-8 mentioned infants and children, so clearly not eternal state, without aging.

Page 13: Millennium

Knowledge Abundant

• Isa. 11:9, “They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

• Habakkuk 2:14, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”

• Jn. 6:45, “They will be all taught by God.”

Page 14: Millennium

Millennial Teaching

• Isa. 54:13, “All your sons will be taught by the Lord, and great will be your children’s peace.” (No children in eternal state.)

• Micah 4:2, “Many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways’… The law will go out from Zion the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge…”

Page 15: Millennium

Law from Zion

• Micah 4:2-3, “Many nations will come and say, ‘come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob; He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths. The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord, from Jerusalem. He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations both far and wide”.

Page 16: Millennium

Iron Scepter

• Ps. 110:2, “The Lord will extend your mighty septer from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies”. (No enemies in eternity.)

• Rev. 12:5, “She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule the nations with an iron scepter.”

Page 17: Millennium

The Timing-after Armageddon

• Rev. 19:14, “The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter.”

Page 18: Millennium

Scepter-Morning Star

• Rev. 2:27, “He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery- just as I have received authority from my father. I will also give him the morning star.”

• Jer. 25:34, “For you time to be slaughtered has come; you will be shattered like fine pottery.” (In conjunction with 2nd coming.)

• Rev. 22:16, “bright morning star.”

Page 19: Millennium

Saints also Reign

• 1 Cor. 6:2, “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?”

• 2 Tim. 2:12, “if we endure, we will also reign with him”

• Rom. 8:17, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

Page 20: Millennium

Our Reign-The Resurrection

• Rev. 20:4, “I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark.. They came to life and reigned with Christ..

Page 21: Millennium

We rule on Thrones

• Ps. 122:3-5, “Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together. That is where the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord to praise the name of the Lord according to the statute given to Israel. There the thrones for judgment stand”.

• Rev. 3:21, “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.”Ps. 122:4-5, “That is where the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord to praise the name of the Lord…There the thrones for judgment stand.”

Page 22: Millennium

We Rule 12 Tribes

• Matt. 19:28, “I tell you the truth, as the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

• Lk. 12:29-30, “And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, so that you may eat and drink at my table…judging the twelve tribes”.

Page 23: Millennium

We Rule The Earth

• Rev. 5:10, “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”

• Rev. 2:26, “To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, O will give authority over the nations- He will rule them with an iron scepter”.

Page 24: Millennium

We Travel Speedily

• Isa. 40:30-31, “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

• Isa. 60:8, “Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests?”

• Isa. 5:26, “he whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Here they come speedily and swiftly.”

Page 25: Millennium

We Feast

• Unlike the priests of Zadok and princes who eat at the feet of Jesus, we eat at table level and see him in all His glory!

• Matt. 8:11, “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.” (See Lk. 13:24-29+22:16-18,

Page 26: Millennium

Finite Millennial Reign

• 1 Cor. 15:24-28, “Then the end will come when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he ‘has put everything under his feet.’ Now when it says that ‘everything’ has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.” (Contradiction of eternal state at Christ’s return.)
