B-29 SuperfortressThe Boeing B-29 was first developed as a high-altitude strategic bomber and its first attacks were of that role, against the Japanese Empire. What happened proved to be disappointing so the USAAF reverted the B-29 to the role of the primary aircraft in the firebombing campaign. The B-29 was a very effective plane because the B-29 was armed with four 18 mm guns and a nose gun all remote controlled. The B-29 is also 4 engine which makes it faster and more effective. The B-29 has participated in many notable missions the most important, the dropping of the atomic bombs. Nicknamed, Enola Gay and Bockscar they were the only “Silverplate” models of a B-29 to ever exist. They also were part of the force that burned out 16 miles of Tokyo.

Supermarine SpitfireThe Spitfire was originally built as a designed as a short-range, high-performance interceptor aircraft. The Spitfire was also built to fight with other contemporary fighters such as the Hawker Hurricane. It was a single seat plane used for bombing purposes and photo-reconnaissance. It was very effective because of its elliptical wing design and the four .303 Browning machine guns on it. It was also effective because of its flawless steering. The Spitfire participated in many battles including the Battle of Britain. Spitfires also defended the port of Darwin during the attempted Japanese invasion of Australia and paved the way for the invasion of “the soft underbelly of Fortress Europe”.

T-34The T-34 was built to counter the new German Panther and Tiger tanks which were developed during the Invasion of Russia in 1942 were effective weapons. The British and Americans were not much help with weapons and the Soviets were on their own. They developed the T-34 as a result of that German threat. It was a very effective weapon because of its thick armor and its rotating turret. The T-34 was also able to withstand many different conditions which made it an ideal weapon for the Soviets. The T-34 was mostly used in the Battle of Kursk which was the largest tank battle ever fought. Also the T-34 was used to relieve the defenders during the Siege of Stalingrad.
