Sewage Water Policy

5

Minimizing the amount of sewage generated in order to maintain water quality

When releasing generated sewage, it is required to comply with the criteria for the

discharge of the sewage system.

When a local government establishes or modifies a basic sewage readjustment plan or

sets up or changes sewage treatment zones, involved with relevant institutions to ensure

that the military sewage can be transferred to the public sewage treatment facility

If inflow cannot be processed as shown above, self-processing facilities specified under

the relevant laws must be installed

In order to focus on national defense duties, self-processing facilities that are kept should

be gradually managed and implemented by private environmental companies.

The amount and budget of the target facility for installation of the treatment facility should

be reflected in the mid-term plan

Establishing workforce and implementing education plans for the operation of treatment

facilities

Normal operating conditions of treatment facilities should be checked at least twice a year

Waste Water Policy

6

To maintain water quality, waste water generation should be minimized When releasing generated waste water, it shall not exceed the criteria for allowing the release of water in the environment-related laws When local governments prepare and modify basic plans for wastewater treatment facilities the institution concerned shall be cooperated with the relevant institution to ensure the inflow of wastewater into the wastewater treatment facility. If inflow cannot be processed as shown above, self-processing facilities specified by the relevant laws must be installed The measure subcontracting self-processing facilities that are held to focus on defense duties to private environmental companies, should be taken and implemented for management The washing facility takes into account the number of vehicles retained, the cycle of each vehicle, the installation cost, and the administrative cost, Use integrated operation by unit or private car wash, and install only if unit conditions are unavoidableThe amount and budget of the target facility to install the treatment facility should be reflected in the mid- to long-term planManpower and education plan for operation of processing facilities must be established and implemented Normal operating conditions of treatment facilities should be checked at least twice a year

Investigation Item

Guidelines for Soil Precision Investigation

9

Investigation Procedure For efficient soil-precision investigation, the basic survey (step 1) and the developed survey (step 2) are conducted where possible. After checking the approximate extent of contamination, conduct a detailed survey (Step 3)

Soil pollutants and soil pH, which are expected to exceed the concern criteria

Accurate GPS coordinate measurement and drawing of sampling points

Remark Detailed survey point (step 3) according to the extent and depth of contamination calculated as a result of the developed survey (Step 2) and adjust the depth to accurately calculate the area and amount of contamination

Being fully aware of the calculated types and areas of contaminants, amount of contamination, concentration of contamination, and the chemical properties of soil, the type, location and flow of groundwater

Guidelines for Disposal of Architectural Material made of asbestos

21

Background

Increased interest in payment of long-term protective equipment after the National

petition for captain Yoo Ho-cheol

Current Status

Disassembly and removal of asbestos is carried out by professional service providers that

are reported under the relevant laws.

In the military itself, a minor repair method is selected and legal protective gear is used,

should be worn

Handling Guidelines

The method of handling building materials for stone materials is selected according to the

results of the risk assessment
