HOLY TRINITY BOOK CLUB
The Holy Trinity Book Club will meet on Monday, August 29, 2016
at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. Our book for this month is
“Grandma Gatewood’s Walk” by Ben Montgomery. Emma Gate-
wood told her family she was going on a walk and left her small
Ohio hometown with a change of clothes and less than two hun-
dred dollars. The next anybody heard from her, this genteel, farm-
reared, 67 year old great-grandmother had walked 800 miles
along the 2,050 mile Appalachian Trail. Follow her journey as she
encounters rattlesnakes, hurricanes and gangsters from Harlem.
The story of Grandma Gatewood will inspire readers of all ages by
illustrating the full power of human spirit and determination. Even
those who know of Gatewood don’t know the full story—a story of
triumph from pain, rebellion from brutality and hope from suffer-
ing. All are welcome to join us.

Family Perspective
“Much will be required of the person entrusted with much.” We have been blessed with abundance. Yet, we are tempted to want even more. A Christian family reaches out to others. Pope Francis recommends experiencing “the happiness of giving, the nobility and grandeur of spending ourselves unstintingly, without asking to be repaid, purely for the pleasure of giving and serving.” The Joy of Love #94 How are you and your family doing?
