Kolkata, June 16: The logjam over junior doctors’ on- going strike continued on Sunday as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to apologise to them ‘a precondition set by the agitating doctors before talks. On doctors’ another demand for visit- ing the NRS Medical College and Hospital, Banerjee said that she will decide where to go and where not to. Mamata, however, said that her government wants to end the stale- mate and ready to meet all the ‘practical’ demands of the protesting doctors. The agitating doctors had on Sat- urday turned down an invite for a closed-door meeting with Banerjee at the state secretariat and had instead asked her to visit the NRS Medical College and Hospital for an open discussion to resolve the impasse. ‘We are open for dialogue always. If the chief minister extends one hand we will extend 10 of ours. We are ea- gerly waiting to break the deadlock,’ their spokesperson said.. Mamata Banerjee, during a press conference at the state secretariat, had urged the agitators to resume work and said her government has accepted all their demands. The Ministry of Home Affairs is- sued an advisory seeking a report on the stir. In its advisory, the MHA said it has received a number of representations from doctors, health- care professionals and medical as- sociations from different parts of the country for their safety and security in view of the strike in West Bengal. ‘No piped water for unauthorised colonies’ New Delhi, Jun 16 (PTI): Around 130 unauthorised colonies in the national capital are not likely to get piped water supply any- time soon as work is stuck due to non-availability of no-objection certificates (NOCs) from land-owning agencies, according to the Delhi Jal Board. DJB vice-chairman Dinesh Mohaniya said NOCs are not available for laying water pipelines in some unau- thorised colonies, while it’s not feasible to undertake work in the rest. ‘Land-owning agencies give NOCs for laying water pipelines in any area. In these cases, they haven’t. For example, Archeological Survey of India may not give an NOC for laying water pipelines if an authorised colony comes up on its land,’ he said.

Kolkata, June 16:The logjam over junior doctors’ on-

going strike continued on Sunday as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to apologise to them ‘a precondition set by the agitating doctors before talks. On doctors’ another demand for visit-ing the NRS Medical College and Hospital, Banerjee said that she will decide where to go and where not to.

Mamata, however, said that her government wants to end the stale-mate and ready to meet all the ‘practical’ demands of the protesting doctors.

The agitating doctors had on Sat-urday turned down an invite for a closed-door meeting with Banerjee at the state secretariat and had instead asked her to visit the NRS Medical

College and Hospital for an open discussion to resolve the impasse.

‘We are open for dialogue always. If the chief minister extends one hand we will extend 10 of ours. We are ea-gerly waiting to break the deadlock,’ their spokesperson said..

Mamata Banerjee, during a press conference at the state secretariat, had urged the agitators to resume work and said her government has accepted all their demands.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is-sued an advisory seeking a report on the stir. In its advisory, the MHA said it has received a number of representations from doctors, health-care professionals and medical as-sociations from different parts of the country for their safety and security in view of the strike in West Bengal.

‘No piped water forunauthorised colonies’

New Delhi, Jun 16 (PTI):

Around 130 unauthorised colonies in the national capital are not likely to get piped water supply any-time soon as work is stuck due to non-availability of no-objection certifi cates (NOCs) from land-owning agencies, according to the Delhi Jal Board. DJB vice-chairman Dinesh Mohaniya said NOCs are not available for laying water pipelines in some unau-thorised colonies, while it’s not feasible to undertake work in the rest.

‘Land-owning agencies give NOCs for laying water pipelines in any area. In these cases, they haven’t. For example, Archeological Survey of India may not give an NOC for laying water pipelines if an authorised colony comes up on its land,’ he said.
