What is a Worklist?• Worklists contain links to the items that have been assigned

to a Data Administrator for processing• Worklists are assigned based on student enrollment records

and the levels of Data Administrators (District, Regional, and State) established for a given state

• There are 4 Types of Worklist entries1. Near Matches2. Validate Merge (Near Match)3. Validate User Initiated Merge4. Validate User Initiated Split

• Data Administrators determine whether the student records associated with a worklist entry are for the same student or separate students.

Worklist Reassignment• A single worklist entry can be assigned to one or multiple

Data Administrators at any given time

• A single worklist entry can only be assigned to Data Administrators at the same “level” (District, Region, or State)

– Users can only reassign a worklist item “down” or to the same level

• Worklist (re)assignment happens real-time

• Validate worklist items will be automatically approved after the full escalation timeframe is reached, regardless of any reassignment back to District or Regional levels.

Points to Remember When Resolving Worklists

• All worklists are intended to answer the same question: “Are these records for the same student?”

• Data does not need to be identical for the records to be for the same student

• States do not need to “agree” upon differing data elements• States can continue to provide new and updated data for

students after worklists are resolved• Worklist resolution decisions can be reversed later using the

User-Initiated Merge and Split functions
