For Fifty years Midland Combustion Limited have pioneered thedesign, development, manufacture, test, erection andinstallation, of Advanced fuel oil heaters, Fuel oil Pumping& Heating products, Cooling systems, Mineral oil treatmentsystems and Composite packaged modules for a wide andvaried range of media.

All equipment manufactured complies fully with EuropeanStandards and Legislation. Products are PED compliant andcarry the CE mark. All Heaters designed in accordance withPD 5500 and ASME VIII.

Fuel oil pumping and filtering packaged sets

are totally self contained units fully piped,

electrically connected and mounted on a

mild steel, weatherproof drip tray base.

The turnkey systems come complete with

pump(s), filter(s) instrumentation, controls

and motor starter(s) ready for immediate

connection and operation on site.

Simplex, Duplex and Triplex systems are

available. In each case the fuel pump is

self-priming, positive displacement normally

supplied with integral oil relief valve, direct

coupled to a TEFC electric motor.

Dual basket filter(s) with changeover to

facilitate on-line cleaning of elements are

incorporated although single basket filters

are an option.

Design, complying with the latest standards.

Tanks for holding Fuel Oils, Waste Oils, and

Water, can be fitted complete with integral

Stainless Steel, built to BS 799.

Midcom Heating and Pumping Systemfor power generation. Steam andElectric Heaters combined with pipingand instrumentsto form one skid.

Midcom Pressurising Systems forMarine Diesel. Design considerationswere for locations where temperaturesregularly drop below -40ºC. Specialconsideration is given to material selection and overall system design toallow for continual working at suchlow temperatures.

Midcom Heating Packages consistingof twin Steam Heaters and associatedSteam Controls. System designed foroffshore applications where the operating temperature often dropsbelow -40ºC. Special consideration isgiven to material selection and overall

system design to allow continual working at such low temperatures.

Pictured are Triple Electric Heaterswith Thyristor Control for theheating of thermal oils for ProcessHeating. Thermal oil is heated andpumped at 220ºC. The packagesystems are designed, built andfully tested before leaving the factory.

Today the demands of power generation

authorities, major industrial users, boiler

manufacturers and exporting contractors is

for self contained, fully works tested

composite packages such as Pumping,

Filtering and Heating to speed installation,

guarantee quality and eliminate the risks of

site installation problems.

The high cost of site installation and

commissioning is also minimised through

pre-assembled systems.

These two factors alone have lead to a

dramatic increase in the requirement for self

contained, modular packages pre-designed

and tested. Midcom has been supplying

such works tested systems for well over four

decades.

Turnkey systems with fully interconnected

pipework eliminate site machining,

fabrication, welding and the resultant

damage that can be caused to precision

pumps and control systems.

Designs of Electric Line Heaters are

available to work with even the most

difficult oils and fluids.

High viscosity crude oils as well as coal tar

fuels, waste oils, lubricating and mineral

oils, water and numerous process fluids

can be precisely heated at the point of

outflow from storage to suit the process

requirements.

Heaters manufactured from Carbon, Steel,

and Stainless Steel, and have withdrawable

refractory core type elements to give heat

flux density variations to suit specific

conditions. The range of commercial

heaters are wide and varied and can range

from 1 kW to 1200 kW using multiple

heaters.
