Pray For…

Community News Celebrate Priesthood Sunday!

Please pray for all the Priests who have been a part of your life. Our prayers and gratitude go out to Fr. Dennis Zehren. Thank you and God Bless!

On this Solemnity of All Saints we begin National Vocation Awareness Week

Let us remember those who have given their lives in service to the Church by renewing our own baptismal commitment to serve the Lord. All of us have been called to share with one another the Good News of Jesus in our daily life. We might live this vocation as a religious, a priest or deacon. Perhaps we might live it as a mom or a dad, a husband or a wife or as a single person. How we understand our call to live these Gos-pel values in our life is our discernment of our vocation. Spend some time with the Lord this month discerning His vocation call specifically for you!

Thanksgiving Prayer Father, we thank You for all the religious vocations that You have given us. Send Your Holy Spirit to guard and guide these men and women. In thanksgiving we ask Your blessings upon those who have so generously re-sponded to Your call, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Ted Pietrini, and for the prayers in our

Parish book of intercessions.

Please call our Director of Pastoral Care, Annie Hermanson at (952)881-8671 x319 with your request for prayers (for you or for your immediate family members). Hospital Ministry—If you or a family member is hospitalized and would like to be visited by our hospital minister, please call Barb Dockendorf, (952)884-1337, or the Parish Office, (952)881-8671.

Weekend Masses Saturday Mass 4:00 PM Sunday Masses 8:30 & 10:30 AM

Private Confessions Saturday 3:00-3:45 PM

Weekday Mass 8:00 AM Monday through Friday Saturday 8:00 AM Communion Service

To the Good People of Nativity,

One day at school lunch one of the children asked me, “Father, what is your favorite color?” I turned the tables on the

children and asked them, “What is your favorite liturgical color? Which of my vestment colors do you like best?”

Before long we were talking about all our favorite Catholic things. It was a great conversation that gave me a moment

truly to appreciate the richness and joy that my faith brings to our lives. I invite you to reflect on some of the same ques-

tions I asked the children, and see if your heart does not fill with gratitude for the abundant beauty and rich culture of

our Catholic faith.

· Who is your favorite saint?

· What is your favorite Bible story? Parable? Psalm? Book of the Bible?

· What is your favorite Catholic hymn? Advent, Christmas, Lenten, and Easter hymn?

· What is your favorite liturgical season? Liturgical prayer or devotion – e.g. lighting the Advent wreath, Stations of

the Cross, Corpus Christi procession?

· What is your favorite Holy Day? To which Mass throughout the year do you most look forward? What is your

favorite Marian feast day?

· What is your favorite title for Jesus – e.g. Lamb of God, Prince of Peace, Bread of Life, Word Made Flesh,

Emmanuel, Root of Jesse, Good Shepherd?

· What is your favorite title for Mary – e.g. Queen of Peace, Star of the Sea, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Ark of the

Covenant, Mystical Rose, Morning Star?

· What is your favorite prayer? Favorite devotion? Favorite Icon?

· What is your favorite sacramental – e.g. ashes, holy water, rosary, blessed medals, scapular, candles, palm

branches?

· What is your favorite Latin word or phrase – e.g. Mea culpa, Anima Christi, In saecula saeculorum, Angus Dei,

Magnificat, Laudete, Gloria in excelsis Deo, Adeste Fidelis?

· What is your favorite Catholic gesture – e.g. Sign of the Cross, genuflecting, ashes on the forehead, striking the

breast, sign of peace, prostration, washing of the feet?

· What are your favorite Catholic smells and sounds?

· What is your favorite religious habit – e.g. the black and white worn by the Domicans, the hooded gray habit of a

Trappist monk, the blue and white of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity?

· To which Catholic site would you most like to visit or make a pilgrimage?

I could go on, but, wow. We truly have a beautiful, captivating, vivid, engaging, and deep faith – a true treasure trove.

How it embellishes our lives and spirits. It is great to be Catholic.
