PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Welcome back to another lovely week at Middleton PS. Spring has arrived and the weekend was lovely. I hope all our fathers, grandparents and male role models across our community enjoyed a special day yesterday.

This week we are recognising and celebrating our support and administration staff who fulfil valuable roles across the school to ensure its efficient running and students are supported as best they could be. I thank our Admin staff – Sue, Leanne, Kellie and Leah for their work in the office, Graham for maintaining our grounds and buildings, and our wonderful School Learning Support Officers who assist daily in our classrooms – Carol, Julieanne, Naomi, Pat, Sue, Viki, Anna and Mandy. I encourage you to thank these wonderful people as you see them in our school throughout this week.

I participated in a Video Conference this morning regarding NAPLAN for 2018 and 2019. Students in Years 3 and 5 participated in this testing earlier in the year, and when the results are released, it is important to remember that the results be looked at for what they are – a snapshot of your child’s performance at that time. When we receive the individual student results package we will distribute them out – this may be the end of next week or the week after.

I will be attending the Mitchell Principals Network meeting in Nyngan this Thursday and Friday. Mrs Norton will be relieving me while I am out of the school. Have a great week,

Paul Principal (Rlg)

to win.

It’s time to start preparing for our Annual Talent Quest and now is the time to do some planning. Some of the children are getting very excited, trying out their dance routines.

The Talent Quest is a great opportunity for the children to be self-directed and to do something different to challenge themselves. Please encourage your child to try something new!

Entry forms will be available from next week and must be returned to school by Friday, 7 September.

Heats will be held during Week 9 of this term, between 17 and 21 September.
