Designing, selecting and procuring an Electronic HealthRecords (EHR) system that meets your requirements

Moving to an e-health environment is a must for all healthproviders in order to manage the future demands and challengesthey will face. Implementing an EHR system however, is not aneasy task and often involves significant financial, operational andhuman resource commitment. Successfully transitioning to an e-health environment –project management excellence for EHR

Electronic health records implementations are very complex andalmost always take more time and budget than originally planned. It is essential to get as much of it right the first time around toavoid costly re-configuration and re-design. This workshop willtake you through the project management essentials on how tobest handle an EHR implementation and keep all keystakeholders on board and happy with the results.

The most challenging parts of any EHR implementation tomanage are the post-implementation period as it is usually notwell defined and there is often limited support from systemproviders. This is also the period that can lead to costs spirallingout of control due to further changes needing to be implemented. This workshop will go through the essential steps you must taketo make sure that your EHR system has an adequate post-implementation maintenance strategy in place to ensure youdeliver ROI to your organisation.

Benefits of attending:

• Defining your post-implementation strategy• Integrating your system maintenance needs into vendor contracts• Ensuring adequate training and post-implementation support• Managing maintenance costs to deliver value from the EHR project
