Runway 12/30 PROHIBITED for takeoff and landing. OK for taxi.
Arrival
B1 and B3 have a slight upward slope towards the terminal. Use caution when taxiing into these gates to prevent jet blast damage if there are aircraft parked in the overnight parking area.

General
Pilots from any flight that will be on the ground for 90 minutes or less may go into the terminal and go to operations to pull up paperwork or call Dispatch without the requirement to clear customs. Arrival Request descent into AUA early and be prepared to be held high due to outbound traffic.
Approaches IMC: Fly the entire approach. ATC will not clear you for a straight-in approach. When able to maintain visual contact with the field, you may request to continue visually. VMC: If cleared for the visual, expect to be cleared to “circuit” altitude (VFR pattern altitude) of 1500 ft. MSL. Be prepared to join the pattern at the point requested by the controller, usually downwind or left base. You may also be asked to fly overhead for a right hand downwind.

2. CD will either:
a) Issue your clearance and start-up approval and also issue instructions to contact apron for pushback, OR
b) Give you a runway and SID assignment along with a Target start-up Approval Time (TSAT). The TSAT is a time to expect clearance to depart the gate.
3. Monitor, but do not contact CD from TOBT on. Any questions about the TSAT should be relayed through station operations.

APU Usage - Use of APU at gate should be minimized as much as practical when ground power and air are available Arrival “Land After” procedure for runway 16C/L, 34R Italy’s ATC procedures do not allow an aircraft to be cleared to land until the preceding aircraft has totally cleared the runway.
• This is contrary to U.S. ATC procedures which allow controllers to issue multiple aircraft landing clearances for aircraft in sequence to the same runway.
• A “land after” clearance may be given to prevent the necessity of ATC issuing a landing clearance on very short final due to preceding landing aircraft clearing the runway.
• A “land after” clearance may be accepted, however, the preceding aircraft should be clear of the runway prior to landing.

10-7A GATEHOLD PROCEDURES The following gatehold procedures are established for overseas turbojet departures from Kona International at Keahole Airport:
a. Advise clearance delivery: “Identification, 10 minutes to taxi, destination, requested flight level”.
b. The statement “10 minutes to taxi” means that you will depart the blocks, taxi, tow or pushback within 10 minutes after receiving enroute ATC clearance.
c. When ATC specifies a release (takeoff) time of more than 15 minutes for your requested altitude/route, alternatives with no or less delay will be offered, if available. If your choice involves a release time of more than 15 minutes, advise Clearance Delivery if you desire to wait at the gate.
d. Depart the blocks within 10 minutes after receiving enroute clearance when release time is less than 15 minutes. Ready to taxi means ready to immediately depart the blocks/ taxi, tow, or pushback. Failure to do so will result in ATC canceling your clearance when other aircraft are requesting the same altitude/route and are ready to taxi.
e. Enroute clearances are based on accurate “10 minutes to taxi” declarations. Those flights that taxi without receiving any enroute clearance will receive no altitude/route priority.
NOTES: 1. Compliance will ensure an orderly sequence of altitude/route assignments during peak traffic movements. 2. Oceanic departures are sequenced primarily with Honolulu, Maui, and Hilo traffic.

• For schedule departures TOBT is the schedule departure time. • If departure is delayed for any reason, LHR Ops will coordinate a new TOBT. • Contact LHR Ops 10 mins prior to departure for TOBT. • Maintain a listening watch on LHR Ops frequency for TOBT updates. • Be ready to depart at TOBT (-5 to +5 minutes). • Call LHR Delivery as early as TOBT -5 minutes but no sooner, to request pushback/startup
approval using the following phraseology: "MidCon 123 Fully Ready." • LHR Delivery will transfer you to LHR Ground. Pushback approval must be obtained no later than
5 mins after being transferred. Pushback approval is the permission to start engines. • ATC will either approve pushback/start or, in case of a delay, advise a time to call again. ATC
may use Target Start Approval Time (TSAT) to relay instructions. • Maintain listening watch on Ground during pushback and taxi.
Due to the high volume of traffic at LHR, when given clearance onto the runway or for takeoff, do so immediately. Departure
Reduced thrust takeoffs are PROHIBITED when weather is less than 3000- 5 or during hours of darkness. Due to the possibility of strong winds above the surface of the field and the limited maneuvering area to the east/southeast of the airport, a maximum right crosswind of 30 knots must not be exceeded at 1,000 feet AFE. To determine the crosswind component at 1,000 feet AFE, use the first available source below:
1. FMS recorded winds on arrival (one-hour time limit). 2. Query ATC to request from air carrier aircraft wind report at 1,000 feet AFE (one-hour time limit). 3. Interpolate between surface winds and flight release winds to determine crosswind component at
