He has over 10 years of experience as a tax specialist, including working at the South African Revenue Service. Alex has consulted to a broad range of clients including clients in the manufacturing and mining industries. He currently heads up the mining tax industry. Nazeer is the Public Sector Leader in Southern Africa and Audit leader at Deloitte. He has tremendous insight into PFMA and Public Sector related issues. He is the key liaison Partner for the firm with regards to the Auditor-General of SA (AG). Billy is an attorney and director who leads the Transfer Pricing team of professionals at Deloitte. Izak is a director in the Government Grants Incentives (GGI) team. GGI specialises in securing grants and incentives, such as grants with respect to research and development expenditure and other strategic industry-related government incentives. He has been involved in direct tax for over 15 years, has consulted to a number of large multinationals and has advised clients in various industries.

Severus has over 20 years of experience in the field of South African VAT and has advised several of our largest clients on VAT issues across a range of industries, including the automotive, retail, financial and manufacturing industries. Severus also advises clients on the VAT implications of merger and acquisition transactions and oversees the due diligence work performed for clients.

Musa is an attorney and a director in the International Tax division. Musa has a wealth of experience advising multinational organisations. His clients include major manufacturing, construction and telecom companies, both with regard to inbound and outbound investments, international restructuring and reorganisation and tax-efficient structuring of activities outside of South Africa. Musa also heads up the Deloitte Africa tax desk, which acts as a central point of contact for potential foreign investors and South African companies that want to explore investment opportunities in the African continent.

Bernadette has over 18 years of experience in the field of personal taxation, employees’ tax and global mobility. She has assisted many corporates and multinationals overcome complex tax and mobility issues that arise across borders.

Ashleigh is a healthcare actuary with significant experience working in the healthcare and data analytics industries. She is the appointed actuary to the Council of Medical Schemes. Ashleigh provides strategic actuarial advice to medical schemes, service providers and companies. In addition, Ashleigh provides “non-traditional” actuarial advice, such as assisting entities with social reform, health reform, tariff modelling, economic modelling as well as strategic workforce planning initiatives.

Sisa is a Director who has built over 10 year’s experience servicing clients within the Manufacturing and Public Sectors industries. Sisa completed his chartered accountancy learnership (articles) with the Deloitte Port Elizabeth Office in 2008 prior to moving into the Risk Advisory business of the firm in 2009. Sisa has combined both his technical knowledge and extensive experiences to develop an intimate knowledge of both local and national government internal and external structures. His auditing background includes experience in both internal and external auditing advisory services, governance reviews, development of procedure manuals with a focus on key controls.
