Preparing a USB Flash Drive for eNodeB

Page12

Step1 Choose Start > Programs > iManager M2000 Client > USB

Making and Protection Tool to start the tool.

Step2 Choose Make USB > Path Settings. The Path Settings dialog

box is displayed, as shown in the following figure.

Step3 Set the local save paths for the software and files, NE type, and

working mode based on the types of USB flash drive directories.

Then click OK.

Step4 Select the NE that requires a USB flash drive and deployment

mode.

Step5 Select an encryption algorithm and an integrity protection

algorithm.

Step6 In the Output Path area, specify a save path.

Performing hardware installation and Power-On Checks

Page16

Step1 Ensure that the base station hardware has been installed and

has passed the installation checks. Different types of base

stations have different hardware installation check procedures.

For details, see Installation Checklist in the installation guide of

the corresponding base station.

Step2 Ensure that the base station has been powered on and has

passed the power-on checks. Different types of base stations

have different power-on check procedures. For details, see

Powering On base station type in the installation guide of the

corresponding base station.

Preset a Bar Code Scanner

Page17

Step1 Print the electronic operation guide on a piece of A4 paper to

facilitate scanning of presetting codes.

Step2 Connect the bar code scanner to the PC through a USB port.

Step3 Scan the presetting codes printed on the A4 paper.

Step4 Check whether the bar code scanner is preset correctly.

Note: Only when deployment ID is used to bind a base station, we

need to preset a bar code scanner.

Performing Bar-Code-Based Base Station Binding

Page18

Step1 Connect the scanner to the USB port on the main control

board of the base station.

Step2 Use the scanner to read the deployment ID in the bar code.

Step3 Check whether the scanning is successful. If the scanner

emits a tone and the scanning laser turns off, the scanning is

successful.

Step4 Remove the scanner.

Note: Only when a base station is to be bound with the deployment

ID, we need to performing bar-code-based station binding.

Download & Activate the Software and Data Configuration FileStep1 Insert the USB disk in USB port on the LMPT/UMPT of the

BBU3900

Step2 eNodeB will automatically upgrade the software and download

the data configuration file, and restart. Then verify that the

loaded software and data configuration files have taken effect.

Step3 Remove the USB flash drive after loading succeeds.

Performing Service Tests

Step1 Use the UE to visit the WWW server and browse web pages. Perform

this test 20 times. The success rate is higher than 95%, and the user

has no difficulty in browsing.

Step2 Use the UE to visit the FTP server and upload files. Perform this test

10 times. The success rate is higher than 90%, and the upload rates are

stable.

Step3 Use the UE to visit the FTP server and download files. Perform this

test 10 times. The success rate is higher than 90%, and the download

rates are stable.

Step4 Use the test UE to call another UE. Perform this test 20 times. The

access success rate is higher than 95%, calls are not dropped and there

is not obvious noise.

Testing Installation and Deployment Quality

Step1 A local engineer checks that the test area has no

radiation and is safe for testing.

Step2 The local engineer checks that all cells of the base

station have been unblocked.

Step3 The local engineer checks the ports and rectifies the

problems. After the troubleshooting, the local engineer

instructs the remote engineer to resume the commissioning

task.

Checking Environmental Alarms

Step1 The local engineer performs a loopback test on an alarm port

of the UPEU using a twisted pair. The remote engineer checks

whether the M2000 receives an environmental alarm from the

alarm ports.

Step2 The local engineer stops the loopback test. The remote

engineer checks whether the alarm on the M2000 is cleared.

Step3 Both local and remote engineers repeat the preceding steps

until all eight of the alarm ports on the UPEU pass the tests.
