Changes to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Internal Use Rights

Program

Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefit entitlements have changed. All current 100/250 seat Dynamics CRM

Online Internal Use Rights offer subscriptions on the Microsoft Online Services platform will end on 31st May 2014. On

this date all Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights subscriptions will go into a 30 day grace period. From 1st July

2014, all partners who continue to qualify for Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefits must have enabled

their new benefits through the Partner Digital Download portal.

Partners who continue to meet the Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights qualification requirements are advised

to enable their Internal Use Rights benefit entitlements on the Partner Digital Download portal before the end of June

to ensure continued user access to your Dynamics CRM Online account.

Please refer to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Internal Use Rights Program Frequently Asked Questions section of this

document for a comprehensive set of questions and answers on the program and the program changes.

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM internal use rights benefit program changes were notified to partners in the October

2013 MPN Partner Disclosure Guide and through the Announcement on PartnerSource (credentials required) that was

published 4th November 2013.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Internal Use Rights New Program Benefit Entitlement

The table below outlines the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM internal use rights benefits for partners. Please note that

the internal use rights benefit entitlements below are per qualifying MPN competency location. All Microsoft

Dynamics CRM internal use rights benefit entitlements are subject to the MPN country and worldwide caps.

Dynamics CRM MPN Gold Competency Partner Entitlement

- 80 Dynamics CRM Online Seats or CRM on Premises licenses

- 4 Non-Production CRM Online instances

Dynamics CRM MPN Silver Competency Partner Entitlement

- 25 Dynamics CRM Online Seats or CRM on Premises licenses

- 2 Non-Production CRM Online instances

MPN Gold Competency Partner Entitlement (category includes Dynamics ERP Partners)

- 60 Dynamics CRM Online Seats or Dynamics CRM On Premises licenses

MPN Silver Competency Partner Entitlement (category includes Dynamics ERP Partners)

- 15 Dynamics CRM Online Seats or Dynamics CRM On Premises licenses

Microsoft Action Pack Subscription Partners - subject to qualifying criteria

- 5 Dynamics CRM Online Seats or Dynamics CRM On Premises licenses

Individual seats and licenses can be interchanged for flexibility, i.e. there can be a mix of Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Online and On-Premises seats provided the aggregate total does not exceed the Microsoft Dynamics CRM internal

use rights entitlement. For example, a partner with a MPN Core Gold competency, the base internal use rights benefit

is 60 Dynamics CRM Online or On-Premises seats. This means that a partner could choose to have 30 Microsoft

Dynamics CRM Online seats and 30 Microsoft Dynamics CRM on-premises internal use rights licenses.

Microsoft Action Pack Subscription partners must have sold a Dynamics CRM Online deal or have sold 50+ Microsoft

Office 365 seats within 12 months.

Additional License Availability

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 On-Premises

For partners using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 or 2013 on-premises internal use rights, and who want more

product licenses than the standard amount permitted by their MPN program, there are two options:

1. Take advantage of the discounted license offer ($45 Professional license) available for Microsoft Dynamics

CRM Online. Microsoft’s strategy is to lead with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online in response to customer

demand trends. We therefore want to encourage our strategic partners that enjoy the IUR MPN benefit

today, to start using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online internally. To request a Dynamics CRM Online

discounted seat offer, please make a request to Microsoft Operations.

2. Purchase additional seats of Microsoft Dynamics CRM on premises through the appropriate channel (e.g.

Volume Licensing).

Partners who have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Internal Use Rights licenses are reminded of the requirement to

upgrade their Internal Use Rights licenses to Dynamics CRM 2013 in line with the MPN Internal Use Rights licensing

terms and conditions which requires product upgrades within one year of a new product release in your country.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online

Partners who quality for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online partner Internal Use Rights benefit are entitled to

purchase additional Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats at a discounted price of $45 per seat. A maximum of

one hundred $45 discounted seats can be purchased. This is a 100 seat worldwide maximum per partner organisation.

If you wish to purchase $45 Dynamics CRM Online seats please submit a request to Microsoft Operations. Once you

have made a $45 seat purchase, provided you have not exceeded your 100 seat maximum entitlement you can

purchase more $45 seats directly through the Office365 admin portal.

The purchase of $45 Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats will also enable you to purchase the Dynamics CRM

Online add-ons, production and non-production instances and additional storage directly through the O365 admin

portal. There is no need to submit a further request to Operations.

Enabling Dynamics CRM Online Add-Ons

Available Dynamics CRM Online add-ons:

1. Additional storage

2. Additional production instances

3. Addition non-production (sandbox) instances

You will need to make a request to Microsoft Operations for an add-on offer link that will allow you to view and

purchase commercially available add-ons for Dynamics CRM Online. Please refer to this section for more information

on how to make a request.

Note that if you have already requested and purchased $45 Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats, you will not

need to request the add-on offer as commercial add-ons are available after purchasing these discounted seats.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Internal Use Rights Benefit Compliance Dates

Dynamics CRM Online

If you had a 100 or 250 seat Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefit offer, the compliance date

for the new Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefit entitlement is 31st May 2014. The current benefit

entitlement also applies to partners who are signing up for Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefits for the

first time.

Dynamics CRM 2011 and 2013 on premises

• If you are enabling your Microsoft Dynamics CRM on premises partner Internal Use Rights benefits on or

after 24th February 2014, the benefit entitlement outlined in the benefit entitlement section of this

document applies now.

• If you are currently on the 100 user license Microsoft Dynamics CRM on premises Internal Use Rights benefit

offer, the compliance date for the new Dynamics CRM on premises Internal Use Rights benefit entitlement is

31st October 2014.

Partners on the 100 or 250 seat Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefit

subscription offer – IUR Benefit Program Transition Notes

• All Dynamics CRM Online 100 and 250 seat Internal Use Rights seat subscriptions on the Microsoft Online

Services portal will be curtailed on 31st May 2014. This will be done automatically by the system.

• Important Notice - Partners on the Commerce Transaction platform must not enable their new benefits on

the Partner Digital Download portal until they have transitioned to the Microsoft Online Services portal.

Enabling your new Internal Use Rights benefits before your platform transition is complete will result in two

separate Dynamics CRM Online accounts. Microsoft does not provide tools to support data migration

between Dynamics CRM accounts. To help identify which platform you are on, Commerce Transaction

Platform users will log in to their CRM account using an e-mail that follows this format - youremail@live.com

Please ensure that you have a transition plan in place to enable your new benefits on Partner Digital Download

portal in May 2014 to maintain Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online account service continuity. Partners should

evaluate their partner membership status and competency attainments per location, country and worldwide.

Depending on MPN competency attainments across locations some partners may receive greater license grants

under the new internal use rights program; i.e. more than one qualifying location that meets the requirements to

receive.

• You must have enabled your Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights benefits on the Partner Digital

Download portal by the end of June 2014 as access to your Dynamics CRM Online IUR accounts will only be

available to account administrators from the1st July 2014.

New Dynamics CRM Internal Use Rights Request

If you do not have a current Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR subscription or CRM On Premises IUR

licenses, please go to the Partner Digital Download portal to enable your internal use benefits.

Partners on the old 100 or 250 seat Dynamics CRM Online IUR subscription offer will need to sign up to the

new program benefits that are available through the Partner Digital Download portal before the 30th June in

order for users to continue to access your Dynamics CRM Online account.

Internal Use Rights benefit entitlement will be validated automatically by the Partner Digital Download

portal. Qualifying partners will be issued Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights token keys that

can be redeemed on the Office 365 Key Redemption Portal for a Dynamics CRM Online Internal Use Rights

subscription.

2014 at the latest to ensure ongoing user access to your Dynamics CRM Online account.

Note: Once you receive and enable this offer you can add licenses in increments of your choosing at any time without

submitting a new request up to a maximum of 100 seats directly through the Office 365 admin portal.

Where can I access my Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits?

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Internal Use Rights (IUR) benefit sign up is moving from a manual process to an automated

online process delivered by the partner digital download site. Access to the Microsoft Partner Network site is limited

to individuals with permissions granted by the program administrator for the organisation. If you do not currently

have Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits, you should sign up using the partner digital download site from the end

of February 2014. If you are already participating in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR program you will continue to

enjoy the existing benefit entitlement until 31st May 2014. Partners who are utilising the Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR

benefit program available before 24 February 2014 should plan for a transition to the new benefit program in May

2014, ensuring that you are on the new CRM Online IUR benefit program before the 30th June 2014.

What is my new CRM IUR Benefit Entitlement?

What is the transition process for new partners?

There is no transition for new partners who do not have an existing 100/250 seat Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR

subscription. Partners who are signing up for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefit for the first time, or after a

break on the benefit should enable their Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits on the partner digital download site

available from the 24th February 2014.

My organisation is on the 100/250 seat Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR program. Do we need to comply

with the new program benefit entitlements when the partner digital download program launches on the 24th

February 2014?

No, if you have a 100/250 seat Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR offer subscription you will keep these entitlement

benefits until 31st May 2014. You should plan for a transition to the new CRM Online IUR benefit program in May

2014 ensuring that you are on the new program before the 30th June 2014. Please enable your new benefits using the

partner digital download site.

My organisation is in the process of transitioning to the Microsoft Online Services Portal for Microsoft

If you are currently on the Commerce Transaction Platform (the legacy Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online environment),

you must ensure that your transition to the Microsoft Online Services Portal is complete before enabling your new

tokens provided by the partner digital download site, you will be given the option to create a new account or use an

existing account. If you wish to use an existing account please make sure that you provide the correct account

At the end of a Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR one year subscription granted through the partner digital

download site, will our Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR benefit subscription auto-renew?

No, you will need to revisit the partner digital download site where new subscription tokens will be re-issued subject

to your organisation retaining its MPN/MAPS competencies/qualifying requirements and continuing to qualify for

Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits.

I have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 on premises Internal Use Rights licenses. When do I need to be

compliant with the new Dynamics CRM IUR benefit entitlement?

You will need to be compliant with the new Dynamics CRM IUR benefit entitlement for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013

Online add-ons directly?

Enabling partner add-ons is a one time request event. To enable add-ons you must have at least one “paid” seat on

your account. The partner $0 one seat pre-paid offer meets this requirement. To provide you with this “paid” seat you

will need to submit a manual request to Operations using the online request form unless you meet the following

criteria:

i. You have already purchased discounted $45 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats.

Enabling the $45 Professional seat offer also enables you to purchase partner add-ons directly through

the Office365 admin center without having to request the $0 pre-paid subscription offer.

ii. You have previously enabled the $0 pre-paid subscription offer provided by Microsoft Operations; this is

a one-time event that will allow you access to available partner offers as required thereafter through the

Microsoft Office Admin Portal.

Please note that the purchase of Dynamics CRM Online Basic and Essential seat subscriptions do not constitute a paid

does not offer any scaling/threshold benefits.

Is there a discounted partner license offer available for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 on-premises?

If you are using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 on-premises IUR product licenses, and need to purchase more than

the standard IUR benefit entitlement permitted by your MPN program, there are two options:

Take advantage of the discounted license offer ($45 Professional license) available for Microsoft Dynamics

CRM Online. Microsoft’s strategy is to lead with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online in response to customer

demand trends. We therefore want to encourage our strategic partners that enjoy the IUR MPN benefit

today to start using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online internally.

Purchase additional Microsoft Dynamics CRM on premises CALs through the appropriate channel (e.g.

Volume Licensing). Partners will retain their Microsoft Dynamics CRM server licenses for IUR even if they

elect to use all their CRM Online seats.

Do the discounted $45 Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats qualify for Microsoft Dynamics Social

Listening and Dynamics Marketing backfill offers?

There are no Dynamics backfill offers available for discounted Dynamics CRM Online Professional seat subscriptions.

Microsoft Action Pack Subscription Partner Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR Qualification Criteria

What are the prerequisites for Action Pack subscribers to qualify for Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR?

Action Pack subscribers can qualify for Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits if you meet either of the following

criteria:

1. Your organisation has sold a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online deal

2. Your organisation has sold more than 50 Microsoft Office 365 seats within the last 12 months. Qualifying

sales are based on the products listed in the Online Incentives Guide.

Notes:

The fiscal year has no role here. The rule (and the system check) is that a partner must have sold either a Microsoft

Dynamics CRM Online subscription or more than 50 Microsoft Office 365 seats at some point in the past 12 calendar

months.

Transitioning paid for non-production Microsoft Dynamics CRM Instances to the free Microsoft Dynamics

CRM IUR non-production entitlement

My organisation has paid for existing non-production Microsoft Dynamics CRM instances and we now qualify

for free Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online non-production instances. How can I transfer my paid non-

production instances to my IUR benefit instance subscriptions?

The simplest way to answer this is using an example:

A partner has 2 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online non-production instances that they pay a subscription for.

The partner then qualifies for two free Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online non-production instances as they are

a Silver CRM Competency partner.

The partner will now have a total of 4 non-production instances. If they want both existing instances to be

those covered by the free IUR grant then they can voluntarily give up the two new non-production instances

and keep using their existing non-production instances. Their Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR non-production

instance subscription will cover their two existing non-production instances. As long as the partner has a

non-production subscription the system does not mind which two instances are kept.

Partners should call the RSC and ask for the instances they do not wish to use to be deleted. This usually

involves them renaming unwanted instances to indicate to support which instances they want deleted.

Partners will then need to call the Microsoft Billing Support team and cancel their existing paid for non-

production instances.

Non-Production Instance Availability at Partner Digital Download Go-Live

I am a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Gold/Silver competency partner and I have not been able to obtain non-

production instances through the partner digital download site. Who should I contact?

Non-production instances for qualifying Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR Partners (Microsoft Dynamics CRM Silver and

Gold Competency partners only) will not be available at the partner digital distribution launch.

As an interim measure, token IDs for non-production instances will be provided to you on request. Please contact the

RSC who can help with this process.

I have an issue with enabling an offer link that was provided by Microsoft Operations. What is the support

escalation path?

This section relates specifically to the three offers that are provided on request to qualifying partners by Microsoft

Operations (see below). It is not applicable to Dynamics CRM Online offers that are provided through the partner

digital download site.

i. Discounted $45 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Professional Seat offer

ii. $0 Pre-Paid Subscription offer (required to purchase add-on such as additional storage).

What is the support escalation path?

Support for all partner digital download site issues are managed by the RSCs. This includes partner IUR entitlement,

portal availability and tokens that are issued by the system.

Can I use my Dynamics CRM Online IUR tokens for multiple accounts in my organisation?

Can I split Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR tokens between accounts? If so, how?

Yes, your tokens may be used to activate seats across multiple accounts for your organisation. Each token may only

be activated once.

How do I move my seats to another account after I have redeemed my product key for a cloud service?

Once a token has been activated for seats on a CRM Online account, those seats may not be moved to another

account.

My organisation is global and we qualify for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR in a number of global

locations. Can we distribute our IUR entitlement granted in one geographical location to users in a different

geographical location?

Managing Split Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR Licenses across Dynamics CRM Online and Dynamics CRM 2013

How are Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR licenses managed between Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013?

This is managed on a trust basis at the moment. Partners are entitled to use their Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR

entitlement on an either or basis. For example, a partner who has a Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR entitlement of 60

licenses or seats could choose to have 30 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online seats and 30 Microsoft Dynamics CRM

2013 CALs. The partner digital download site will give a partner their full entitlement for both products, e.g. a MPN

competency partner could receive 60 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online seats and 60 CRM 2013 CALs. Microsoft

entrusts partners to abide by the MPN Internal Use Rights program terms and only use a maximum of 60 Microsoft

Dynamics CRM IUR seats/licenses across both products. Partners will be non-compliant with the program use terms if

selected for a compliance audit.

Adding Additional Licenses Purchased Through an Enterprise Agreement

Can I purchase additional Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online seats through my organisation’s Enterprise

Agreement and add these subscriptions to our Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR account?

Yes, if your Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online internal use rights account is on the Microsoft Online Services Portal.

Please refer to this section to determine what platform your CRM Online account is hosted on. The Microsoft Online

Services Portal supports mixed Microsoft Enterprise Agreement and internal use rights subscriptions. The seats will be

managed using two different pools so you can assign users as appropriate. Please note that $45 Microsoft Dynamics

CRM Online Professional seats cannot be purchased through the Enterprise Agreement. This offer can only be

provided by Microsoft Operations and you should use the online request form to make the request.

Miscellaneous

When will Australian partners be able to enable their Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits on the partner

digital download site?

Australian partners will be able to provision their Microsoft Dynamics CRM IUR benefits through the partner digital

download site from the 1st April 2014.

I have purchased Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats through my Microsoft Enterprise

Agreement. If I now purchase $45 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats is it possible to get a

refund on the seats I purchased through my Microsoft Enterprise Agreement?

Seats purchased through an Enterprise Agreement are non-refundable.

There are no scaling/threshold benefits for any of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online IUR offers, including the $45

Professional seats you get 5GB of free storage, if you purchase 25 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Professional seats,
