Purpose of the Testing
The Microlithic fabrication technique is based on proven thin film, wire bonding, and diode technology. An unreleased early stage Microlithic double balanced mixer design was tested against thermal shock, vibration, mechanical shock, and acceleration test standards. The test plan was as follows:
-Four units were subjected to thermal shock according to MIL-STD-202, Meth. 107 D.
-Four units were subjected to both mechanical shock according to MIL-STD-883, Meth. 2002.2, Cond. C. These same units were subjected to vibration according to MIL-STD-883, Meth. 2007.2, Cond. C.
- Four units were subjected to acceleration according to MIL-STD-883, Meth. 2001.2, Cond. D.
Comprehensive electrical performance testing was performed before and after environmental stress to detect any sensitivity in electrical parameters to environmental stressors.
