and stable concentricity during the run. A concentricity monitor is of course needed during the line start and the fine tuning, once the concentricity level is achieved no

further adjustment is needed.

For easier pairs identification, a colored stripe has been

added to the usual plain white wires. 1,3,5,&7.

A fourth auxiliary extruder will apply the stripe.

Line configuration will be now: 1.- Main extruder for the foam insulation, generally 60-36D. 2.- Auxiliary extruder for outer skin. 30-24D. 3.- Auxiliary extruder for inner skin. 18-24D. 4.- Auxiliary extruder for stripe.18-24D. Nb: extruders sizes given as an example only.

A distribution block has been added to the three layers cross head to connect the 4th extruder to

the head.

A 4th extruder means less space around the cross head, more electrical power consumption (heating, motor) and suppose an upgrade of the line’s

control.

microdia’s engineers took the challenge of

extruding a skin-foam-skin + stripe with only 3 extruders saving customer’s cost of line’s upgrade

and additional power need.
