(Reg.No.MAH/4814/SAT) Microbiologist’s Society, India ABOUT US - Microbiologists Society, India (http://microbiosociety.org/) is a registered Non Government Organization working at National and International level in promoting Microbiology. It was established in March 1996 and registered in November 1996 in Satara, Maharashtra India (MAH/4814/SAT). The society was incepted to introduce the important science of Microbiology at all levels of education (viz; schools, colleges and universities), encourage research in the field as well as take it to the consumers whether it is the field of agriculture, medicine, food, fermentation and all other microbiology based industries.The Society has got major support from the Government of Maharashtra,DST,DBT,CPCB,INSA,CSIR and other private organization. AIMS & OBJECTIVES At present Information Technology and Bio- technology are the two popular technologies in the world and Microbial technology is the backbone of biotechnology. The society has been instrumental in popularizing Microbiology in Maharashtra. It is spreading its wings not only to other states of the country but has already established branches in Mauritius, Dubai, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Bangladesh by organizing conferences in these countries. The society has always given top priority to students who are the future of Microbiology ACHIEVEMENTS 1. The Microbiologists Society has about 300 life members 2. More than 7000 student joined society as annual members in the last year. The Society has about 150 student units in India and abroad. 3. The Society has been pioneer in Mobile(M) learning. The society has created a Microbiology Group on Telegram messenger and more than 2300 students from India are members of that group. The information of Job opportunities, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Training in Microbiology is given in the group. 4. We have more than 15 Whatsapp group for teachers, scientists and industrialists to exchange microbiology knowledge. 5. The society is regularly conducting virtual classes in Microbiology ,about 250 colleges have attended the same and about 100 teachers have delivered virtual lectures 6. We have organized three National and International webinars in Microbiology. 7. The society is joining hands with reputed centres by acting as a bridge between the scientists and students for acquiring practical knowledge. 8. The society is giving different awards like Best Departments, Best Teachers, Best Research Paper, Best Ph.D Thesis and Life time Microbiology devotion Award. 9. Society has started organizing annual teachers meet in Microbiology in Maharashtra. 10. Every year we declare one topic for awareness in society,we have already declared following topics. Biofertlizers and Bio Pesticides, Pure Water for better health, Protect Your Teeth,Genetically modified foods, Antibiotic Resistance and Microbs for clean Environmental.

Microbiologists Society, India

(http://microbiosociety.org/) is a registered Non

Government Organization working at National

was incepted to introduce the important science of

11. The Society was running a scientific journal

“Journal of Microbial World” from 1999 to

2014,

12. Five proceedings of various conferences have

been published by the society.

13. The society has organized Rangoli exhibition

on topic “Immunology”. 122 colleges and

about 6000 students from India has

participated in this event.

14. Every year we are organizing international

conference out of india.We have organized

international conferences in Sri Lanka,

Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, Dubai,

U.S.A. and Maldives.

15. We are arranging student exchange programme among SAARC countries. Students from Nepal and Bangladesh attended Microbiology training in colleges from Maharashtra.

Student Unit of Microbiologists

Society

1. Collect 100/- Rs. from each student.

Collect 50/- Rs. for next year.

2. Send only 20% of the collected amount to

central unit.

3. Use 80% amount for student activity in the

department.

4. We will send annual membership

certificate to each student.

5. Arrange various competitions, lectures or

related activities in the year.

6. Fill up the prescribed student information

form and keep the record with your

department.

7. Send the names of president, secretary and

treasurer from the students.

8. Send the photographs of various activities

to upload on the website.
