Smith ckets, you can exchange your pre-order vouchers for ckets at the Welcome Center on Sundays or at the church office during normal office hours. A few more ck- ets are available for the concert on Saturday, November 22, at a discounted price of $25. Open Door Sunday was truly that! Lots of new faces, lots of energy. Some new Connect Groups that already need a bigger space. People worshiping in their heart language instead of the hybrid worship we’ve been doing all these years. Almost full auxiliary parking lots. People pung others before self. Rich fellowship me between hours. Lots of new leaders and volunteers in the game. Invite – invest – impact on display. It was an excing day. My thanks to you all for your faithfulness, your paence, your ser- vice, and your love for God and others. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! It’s me to nominate new deacons. Nominaon forms are at the informaon centers. The church’s requirements are on the form. Please pray about this maer, and if you know of someone who meets the requirements and would make a good deacon, nominate him. Deacons are spiritual leaders and servants. They care for the sick and the bereaved. They are a sounding board for me. You see them serve the Lord’s Supper, but they do most of their ministry behind the scenes. It’s me to elect some new ones. Pray and parcipate in the process as God leads you. Nominaons are due by October 5. Thanks. I’ll be cranking up my Men’s Group on Tuesday morning, September 23 at 6:30 in room 223. You can enter through the Family Life Center door. Over the years our group has done a mixture of theology, praccal Chrisan living, and Bible study. We’re going to consider Chrisan ethics this semester. We’ll be reading through the book Is God An-Gay? by Sam Allberry. Seems like a mely issue in our day. Chaplain Ed Losee dropped by the 2014 Walk for Christ packets. This is an annual fund rais- er for the Garland County Jail Ministry, a ministry that lead many to Christ and helps them get started in a new life when they get out of jail. If you’re interested in helping, please con- tact me for a packet. This is a worthy ministry that makes eternal impact on some of those Jesus called the “least of these” in His Mahew 25 story. Any takers? We connue our “Exile Life” series this Sunday. We’ll be thinking together about the im- portance of knowing and living what we believe. Once again, Daniel will help us. See you then.
