The undersigned is directed to refer t o the sub-ject cited abov e andto say that the question of extending the facility of providing health carein Army and Cantonment Hospitals on payment basis to all AIS officersand their families while serving in the North-East Region, has beenengaging the attention of the Government for some time. Accordingly,Ministry of Defence has issued necessary instruction to all MilitaryHospital in the N E region to provide medical care to All India Serviceofficers and their families as non entitled civil gazetted officers and chargehospital stoppage rates (HSR). A copy of the Ministry of Defence' letter No.9(1)194/D (Mel), dated the 1lLhugust, 2005;ssued in this regard is forwardedalong with enclosures for information and necessary action.
