Notice
In beginning start with a double adjustable Magic Ring. Leave the fastening off of the magic ring

Welcome! Thank You for joining in the Mexican Mandala CAL. This week we are making the center and the
center wheel where four different colors will be used. Remember to check out the pictures, they will give yo
u more instructions.
Foundation Round:
Starting with a double adjustable magic ring, make 16 dc into ring. Join to 1st dc with a sl-st, and do not pull
up ring until after the 8 sections are complete.
Stitch count: 16 dc.
Round 1: (Pic 1)
ch 1, 2 dc in next 16 sts, join with sl-st to first dc.
Stitch count: 32 dc
Round 2: (Pic 2)
ch 1, dc in the same st, dc in next sts, join with sl-st to first dc
Stitch count: 32 dc
Round 3 and 4: (Pic 3) same as round 2
Fasten off and secure ends.
Stitch count: 32 dc

Round 5:
From this round on there will be four different colors to work with and in two sections. You will be working
on both sides, on the right side and on the wrong side. Remember to keep the yarns running always on the
wrong side of work when changing the color. Color changes are always made in the last dc. The repeat *-* is
to be made in every color. Hint: adding stitches will always be made on the front side of work.
Color 1: SS dc in any dc, dc in next 3 dc, change color in last dc, (Pic 1-4, arrow shows new color) continue
color 2: dc in next 4 dc (change color in last dc), color 3: dc in next 4 dc (change color in last dc), color 4:
dc in next 4 dc. Do not cut off the yarns!

Round 6: Note: remember to keep unused yarn at the back of work so it can be picked up when changing c
olors.
Turn (wrong side), ch 1, dc in same st (from now on first sc is in same space as join), dc in next 3 dc, change

Now you are ready to do the remaining colors of the circle. Be sure to alternate colors in the same way. Ever
y round is completely the same as rounds 5 to 22.
Sew the two seams together invisibly.
