    Based on our discussion and further technical discussions with the contractor, the attached method

    statement cannot be accepted as is. You will find my comments in the form of sticky notes on the

    attached document.

    Basically, the contractor needs to address the following:

    0 Abrasive material used, shall be approved by Saudi Aramco. Not all sources of steel shots/grits are

    acceptable.

    0 In their system, they need to control the salt contamination of abrasives to meet the requirements

    of SAES-H-001

    0 Upon completion of blasting, substrates shall be tested for salt contamination to avoid osmotic

    blistering

  • Once their system is rectified, they should update the changes on the method statement and re-submit

    for approval.
