Page 1 Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation ANNUAL REPORT April 1, 2011-March 31, 2012 Message from the President This has been another busy year. I am pleased to report we successfully completed our seven million dollar “Building a Tower of Care Campaign” which is the largest fund raising campaign in the history of the North Okanagan. Thank you to Joanne Kineshanko, Laurie Postill, Paul Nixon and their campaign team for all their efforts. We are also working on another significant campaign for the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre which is expanding into the space vacated by the ICU and Cardiac Care Units. The goal is $500,000 to expand the Cancer Centre which desperately needs more space and allows for the addition of a second Medical Oncologist. The construction is starting as we speak. This past year our Foundation’s revenue was $2,227,745 as we finished up the Tower of Care Campaign. We made another significant donation of $2,569,801 to Interior Health for the purchase of new medical equipment, as well as supporting programs. Out of that total, $2,295,578 went to the new tower and the balance of $274,223 supported many programs, and residential facilities in the greater North Okanagan, and other areas of the hospital that are not in the new tower. One item that is extremely important to our Foundation is the stewardship of our donor’s money. We are constantly watching our costs and I’m very happy to report that our administration costs, as a percentage of net revenue was 13.6% this past year. I would like to thank all our donors, sponsors and volunteers, our Board of Directors and our Foundation staff members for another successful year. April 1, 2011-March 31, 2012

Message from the President This has been another busy year. I am pleased to report we successfully completed our seven million dollar “Building a Tower of Care Campaign” which is the largest fund raising campaign in the history of the North Okanagan. Thank you to Joanne

Kineshanko, Laurie Postill, Paul Nixon and their campaign team for all their efforts.

August 2011, Hospital staff volunteered their time to prepared and served the gourmet dinner for the Charity Classic Gala held in the Ambulance Bay of the new Polson Tower

Foundation Staff Report It has been an exciting year. Having successfully surpassed our Building a Tower of Care Campaign goal, was a real tribute to the members of the campaign team and to the residents of the North Okanagan. It was a pleasure to offer sneak previews of the new Polson Tower at our donor reception, community days and to the participants of the VJHF Charity Classic Gala. The second annual Charity Classic was an overwhelming success, raising $225,000 net for equipment for the Polson Tower. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the physicians and staff who assisted the Foundation in welcoming our guests to the new facility. As well the efforts of the Dietary team who served up an amazing 5 star meal “Fit for a King”! I wish to take this opportunity to thank Andrea Egan, Development Of icer and Terri Manke, Development Assistant for their continued hard work and dedication to the work of the Foundation. As well, it has been a pleasure working with the members of the Board and the Tower of Care Campaign Team. Sue Beaudry Director of Development
