meaningful ideas to transform your family’s everyday activi-ties into sacred moments. From bedtime blessings to preparing for a new baby, saying grace at mealtime, first day of school/ college, new driver, death, and even ideas for grandparents!

Children and youth will just “catch” the faith of their parents, right? Not necessarily. Raising Disciples, helps par-ents reconnect faith and parenting as it equips parents to model what follow-ing Jesus looks like in daily life. Filled with authenticity, flexibility, humor, and prayer, Frisk outlines how parents can make openings for their children to experience God in their daily lives.

In practical and thoughtful ways, she equips parents to disciple their kids in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood.

Migrant is a children’s book for ages 4-7 (and older). Migrant is a color-fully illustrated book about Anna, the child of Menno-nites from Mexico, who have come north to harvest fruit and vegetables. Sometimes she feels like a bird, flying north in the spring and south

in the fall, sometimes like a jackrabbit in an abandoned bur-row since her family occupies an empty farmhouse near the fields, sometimes like a kitten, as she shares a bed with her sisters . . . but above all Anna wonders what it would be like to be a tree rooted deeply in the earth, watching the seasons come and go, instead of being like a “feather in the wind.”

ing them for doing so, taking their toy, or they feel like they can’t do something. This story shows children of any age that instead of yelling or crying or stomping their feet, they can practice fun ways to help them stay CALM. By associating emo-tions with something a child can visual (bright red spot), they are able to see when a small feeling of frustration can easily turn into into a big ANGRY emotion. They will realize they can manage their spots of emotions with fun counting and breathing techniques by watching an ANGRY SPOT start to shrink down.

Sewing Circle met on November 6, 2019, with 19 ladies present. There were 12 comforter tops donated and 5 com-forters and 7 hygiene kits were completed. Verny read a let-ter of thanks from the Conestoga School for the comforters donated to their sale, and informed us of the change in our meeting date in January to January 8. For devotions, we sang “Now Thank we All our God” after which Fern led a devotional on Thanksgiving. She retold the story of why and how the Pilgrims came to this country and that they were actually Puritans who called themselves Pilgrims be-cause of their journey. She read Psalm 84:1-7, and went on to share highlights from Johnny Hertzler’s life as an exam-ple of pilgrimage. She also shared Colossians 3:1 and how we need to set our minds on things above and see this life here as a pilgrimage. The special offering totaled $26.00. ~ Betty Cannell, Secretary Sewing Circle met again on December 4, 2019 with 24 ladies present. Six tops and 3 comforters were donated and 11 comforters were completed and 5 hygiene kits assem-bled. Verny reminded us that in event of bad weather if Twin Valley School is closed, we will not meet. Since every three years, new officers are elected, a motion was made by Ginny Hertzler to accept Pat Gascho as the new Vice President. The motion was seconded by Joyce Martin, and Pat was voted in unanimously. As of January 2020, Karen Hertzler will move into the position of President and Pat will be Vice President. We all expressed our appreciation to Verny for her leadership the past three years. For devotions, we sang “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” followed by Fern reading the Christmas story in Luke from the KJV of the Bible. She then told a story of two brothers who live in central Asia who were born com-pletely paralyzed and how the repeated reading of the story of Jesus from the Bible resulted in their total healing and the salvation of their father. Fern then repeated the third verse of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” where Charles Westley wrote “Risen with healing in His wings, Light and life to all He brings.” The special offering amounted to $29.00. We closed by singing “Joy the the World.” ~ Betty Cannell, Secretary
