The right of indigenous peoples to ed-ucation is protected by the UN Declarationon the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Arti-cle 14 which states that “Indigenous peo-ples have the right to establish and control their educational systems and institutionsproviding education in their own languages, in a manner appropriate to their culturalmethods of teaching and learning.”
Goal 4 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls for ensuring equalaccess to all levels of education and vocational training for the vulnerable, includingpersons with disabilities, indigenous peoples and children in vulnerable situations.
