Easy Three-step Interrogation Process

1. CONNECT TRANSMITTER

• Ensure connectivity option (broadband, cellular adapter, landline) is always connected to receive regular software upgrades

• Plug transmitter into electrical outlet

• Allow several minutes for the transmitter to boot up (LEDs scroll during process)

• Ready to perform an interrogation (only green LED is on)

Easy Three-step Interrogation Process

2. INTERROGATE DEVICE• Position wand over the patient’s implanted device

• Push round START button ONCE to READY transmitter for interrogation“Stars” icon will light up to indicate the transmitter is ready to perform an interrogation

• Push button again to initiate interrogation“Read” icon will flash while the transmitter is locating the implanted device

• The “Read” icon remains solid while the transmitter LEDs scroll left to right Data are being collected from the implanted device

• When the “Tower” icon is lit with scrolling LEDs, you can remove the wand Data are being uploaded, which may take up to 15 minutes

• When the “Stars” icon is lit, transmission is complete “Stars” icon lights up at the start of the process and again at the end

Read Error

“READ” ICON SOLID AND FIRST LED FLASHING:

• The transmitter is attempting to read an unsupported Abbott device*

• DO NOT try to read the implanted device again (please contact your Abbott representative for interrogation)

“READ” ICON SOLID AND ALL FIVE LEDS FLASHING:

• The transmitter has not found a device in range of the telemetry wand

• Reposition the wand and press the white START button TWICE to restart the read process

– First button press — “Stars” icon illuminates

– Second button press — restarts read process

IF USING A CELLULAR ADAPTER:

• Disconnect and reconnect the USB connections

• Relocate the transmitter to an area with adequate cellular signal strength (e.g., outside wall or window)

• If the transmitter was unplugged from the wall, wait for it to boot up before attempting another connection

• Press the white START button TWICE to attempt the connection again

IF USING A LANDLINE:

• Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the phone cord

• Verify that the dial tone is active in the dedicated analog wall jack

• If using a splitter, remove the splitter and retry by connecting the phone cord directly into the working wall jack:

1. Disconnect from power outlet

2. Connect phone cord to dedicated fax line wall jack

3. Plug the transmitter back into the power outlet

4. Allow the transmitter to boot up

5. Attempt the connection again

• Press the white START button TWICE to attempt the connection again

FURTHER TROUBLESHOOTING CAN INCLUDE:

• Disconnecting/reconnecting the USB adapter and rebooting the transmitter then disconnecting the ethernet cord from the WAP and its connectivity source, then disconnecting the WAP from the power and reconnecting it.

*Consider rebooting the MerlinOnDemand™ transmitter, the WAP and the router/modem that the WAP is connected to.
