Mocal


Oil CoolersOil coolers are necessary on tuned and high performance engines. The oil thins as the temperature rises and its lubricating properties may be reduced. To keep the oil temperature at about 80°C it may be necessary to fi t an oil cooler. The coolers are made in two widths 115mm and 230mm (core width). The coolers can be supplied with either BSP or JIC unions. The coolers are light weight aluminium and should be protected from vibration and carefully mounted. They can be mounted on M6 rubber bobbins which offer protection. £2.85 each.

Sandwich PlateThe sandwich plate SP1 channels oil from the fi lter head to the oil cooler and/or the remote fi lter head. The sandwich plate is mounted between the fi lter head and the fi lter and held in place with an extension bolt. Where space is limited a cover plate holds the sandwich plate in place and a remote oil fi lter is fi tted into the system. This is particularly useful when fi tting large engines into small chassis. The ports on the SP1 are 1/2" BSP and we can supply adaptors to suit most hose systems.

Thermostatic Sandwich Plate This is similar to the SP1 but incorporates a thermostat which controls the fl ow of oil to the cooler. The thermostat is set at 82°C. Cannot be used with a remote fi lter head.

Extension BoltUsed to hold the sandwich plate to the fi lter head, the fi lter then screws on the extension bolt.

Goodridge PTFE hose offers many advantages over 200 series rubber, as it is impervious to all fluids and alcohols, fuel and oil, and unlike 200 series rubber hose, will not degrade or allow vapour penetration. 811 is a unique design that incorporates both the flow characteristics of a smooth-bore hose, with the flexibility of a convoluted hose. Seamless synthetic nitrile inner tube with an integral stainless steel inner braid and a high tensile stainless steel outer cover. 200 series hose has the highest corrosion and fire resistance threshold of any stainless steel braided nitrile hose available. It can be used with all synthetic lubricants, fuels, oils, coolants and alcohols including methanol and nitromethane.

210 series is a new development, based on the conventional 200 series stainless steel braided Nitrile hose. The 210 series has a lightweight fibre braid, with high abrasion resistance, and is ideal for breather hoses, or oil and water circuits. It is the perfect solution as a lightweight alternative to 200 series, where the robust stainless steel braid is not necessary, and weight saving is paramount. Please Note: Not to be used for fuel use inside a cockpit.

High speed, constant rapid gear changes and heavy brak-ing put great strains on competition hydraulic systems, where failure can be disastrous. 600 series hose strongly resists expansion under high pressure and temperature,

provides consistent brake and clutch pedal pressure giving fi rmer and more effi cient operation without that spongy feeling. Offering protection against abrasion and fi re, these hoses are also recommended for all pressure gauge lines and fi re extinguisher systems. Use dash size 3 for most braking systems and dash size 3 or 4 for clutch systems. Dash 2 hose is the smallest brake hose available. Its microbore construction can give increased line pressure and more responsive and sensi-tive brake feel. Excellent for motorcycle and race car braking systems. Temperature range: -73°C to 232°C

Why foam? Because, compared to paper or other filtertechnologies, reticulated polyurethane foam achievesoptimum performance against three key criteria:

1. Maximum Air Flow – the ability to allow air to passthrough without causing a large drop in pressure.

2. Cleaning Efficiency – the ability of the filter to removedust and contaminents from the airflow.

3. Dust Load-up Tolerance – the capability to absorba large amount of dust before cleaning or replacementis required.

With the unique TriFoamTM System, which uses variousthicknesses of finer or coarser foams, these factors canbe varied for different applications.

TriFoamTM gives the flexibility to produce air filters to exactcustomer specifications. ITG can tailor the dust filteringcapability to well below 5 microns for roller barrel throttles,superchargers and cabin filters.

They do not need tapping and are ready to use immediately after they have been fi tted. Spare mandrels are still available for older tools.
