SHUTDOWN WARNING: If there is any evidence of fire within the engine during shutdown, proceed IMMEDIATELY with DRY MOTORING Procedures CAUTION: When the Condition Lever is moved aft to the CUTOFF/FEATHER position, the prop should go into the FEATHER position and quickly (20 to 30 seconds) come to a stop. If the prop continues to windmill (failed to feather) a feathering failure has occurred. Investigate and correct the problem prior to the next flight. (POH Section 2.9) FLIGHT INTO KNOWN ICING
NOTE: Flight into known icing conditions is approved only if the required ice protection systems are installed and functioning properly. That equipment includes:
Surface De-Ice System Propeller Heat Anti-Ice System
Windshield Heat Anti-Ice System Pitot Anti-Ice System
Stall Warning Anti-Ice System Wing Ice Inspection Light
WARNING: Flight into known icing conditions is prohibited if there is known failure of any of the ice protection equipment OR if the Generator or Alternator are failed or are inoperative. WARNING: MAXIMUM FLAP extension with ANY accumulation of ice is 20. PRIOR to entering known icing conditions the following ice protection equipment MUST be activated. Surface De-Ice ON
Stall Heat ON
Prop Heat ON
Pitot Heat verify ON
Windshield Heat As requiredDefog/Anti-Ice
Ignition Manual
Windshield Defog ON
ECS HIGH
Wing Leading Edges Monitor for continual shedding of ice
Annunciator Panel Monitor for correct function of ice protection systems
WARNING: If any aircraft ice protection system fails during flight in icing conditions, exit icing immediately and avoid any further known icing conditions. Departing Icing conditions with residual and intercycle airframe ice, leave all Ice Protection Systems ON Ignition Auto
After removal of residual and intercycle airframe ice
Surface De-Ice OFF
Stall & Prop Heat OFF
