meridian water eco neighbourhood portfolio
DESCRIPTION
This project is my final MALA final Design Project: The Meridian Water Eco-Neighbourhood is a regeneration project in Enfield, London. The new vision for Meridian Water is to create a model Eco-Neighbourhood that connects the city with fields not only physically but also from cultural, philosophical and environmental perspectives. The design will evolve from the existing ecological corridors with the expansion of the River Lee channel penetrating in an east-west direction, providing extensive wetland and marshland landscapes. The design for water will be the key innovation of the project by looking into new ways of integrating architecture into the landscape. The overarching aims of the project are to provide much needed housing, allied services, a new micro economy, with a new ‘urban centre’ within a landscape lead ‘green and blue’ environment creating a new model for ecological neighbourhoods for sustainable living, work and play.TRANSCRIPT
