    SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

    EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nursing Program. Current registration as registered nurse in New York State.

    Current BLS validation and ACLS validation.

    EXPERIENCE: Must have one (1) year of recent (within 6 months) critical care experience.

    Must successfully complete cardiothoracic training program as defined by education competencies.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

    Participates in educational conferences and upgrades and maintains professional knowledge and skillsrelated to the area of responsibility, maintains confidentiality, understands legal aspects of job function,and adheres to hospital policies and procedures.

    Role involves a variety of problems to be solved under general guidelines, and calls for a variety of

    decisions, some of which are complex and must be referred to a resource person.

    Assists in directing a small group of employees performing similar or related tasks of semi-skilled nature.

    Instructs employees.

    Assigns, contributes to evaluating performance, and maintains efficiency of staff assigned to him/her.

    minimum performance level equating to satisfactory job performance for this evaluation period.

    An overall rating of 1 4 is determined by averaging the scores of all three (3) factors.

    A score for ANY of the three (3) factors that is not indicated as greater than 2 will require a formal

    action plan to be compiled by the manager in conjunction with an HR Representative. The plan must
