MerchandiseMarketing strategy

Merchandise I have decided to use merchandise to promote my music video and this is used as a marketing strategy. Merchandise is available in many different forms: posters, t-shirts, wristbands and more. I have decided on a t-shirt design and a poster to promote my music video.

Merchandise I decided to design a t-shirt in aid of promoting my music video, I decided on a simple image of my main character. I used this image (see right) because it has a clear view of the blue sky however she is still in the frame and although she isn’t in the middle of the frame, she automatically becomes the focal point as there is nothing else to focus on in the shot and this was my intention as the song is about a girl, therefore I wanted that to be the main focus.

I found a website in which I could design my t-shirt using the templates that the website provided. It was a simple process and I feel that the t-shirt is unique and replicates a ‘band tee’ accurately. I simply used an image and text as I want to emphasis the picture.

MerchandiseI also decided on a poster, the reason being this is another marketing strategy and I feel this would appeal to the audience as it reflects the music video as the image I have selected (see right) is fun and playful which mirrors what I aim to achieve with my music video.

MerchandiseI found a website which allowed me to edit my image which I then turned into a poster, the website allowed me to crop, add text and resize the image. I felt the font went well with the image behind it.

MerchandiseI was pleased with the end product, however I realised that I wanted more emphasis on the bright colours that were on the poster. Therefore, I found a separate editing website to gain the colour effects in which I sought.
