Thirteen goals in a big win to bring up his 100th major for the season was the perfect way for Temora's Victor Dunn to celebrate the milestone in Mercantile Mutual Riverina Football League last week.

A century of goals at any level is a remarkable achievement and Dunn's top form is a great sign for the Kangaroos going into the finals.

Griffith's Gary Argus and Turvey Park's Adrian Hill are still a chance of the 100-goal mark with both players needing 1 O and 12 majors respectively.

In a big game this weekend Temora and Turvey Park do battle at Temora.

The Bulldogs go in after last week's three-goal win against Griffith while the Roos showed they meant business with a 13-goal victory over Collingullie-Ashmont.

Perhaps the Demons were left wondering what could have been had Dunn not had such an impact on the game.

Temora will see themselves as a big chance of winning this game at home. The Dogs will nevertheless remain favourite but must respect a much-improved Roos' line-up who are looking for an edge going into September.

The recent good form of Temora, Griffith and Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong suggests an excellent finals series.

Turvey, Tigers, Temora and GGGM had big wins last week which always indicates a side reaching their peak in the finals lead-up.

Griffith would not be disappointed despite losing by three goals to the Dogs.

Three-goals dfference could be looked upon as two minutes work on the paddock and that's the way the Swans will be looking at it should they meet Turvey again this year.

The Swans came close and would give themselves a better chance of toppling the Dogs next time around.

But at the end of the day the Dogs walked away with the points and their favouritism intact leaving the Swans with a few more hurdles in their path of

contemplating a grand final berth. But the Swans have an even better chance to

redeem themselves this weekend against Wagga Tigers in Wagga.

Griffith would dearly love a Tigers scalp in one of the most difficult away games for any team.

Beating Tigers on their home turf is a big assignment and would carry plenty of weight at this important time of the season.

GGGM is the only top five team not playing a fellow finalist this weekend. The Lions have a crack at East Wagga-Kooringal and will have their sights on taking over fourth place, counting on a Tigers win against Griffith.

East Wagga came to life in the second part of the season but were rudely shocked when Tigers gave them a lesson last week.

Leeton-Whitton will also be looking to continue their late charge up the ladder.

The Crows would be confident of beating Narrandera , and with a Lions victory favoured, the Leeton-Whitton lads could find themselves in seventh place.

The Crows were absolutely delighted with their win against Coolamon last week and spirits are high within the camp. A couple more wins to finish off the year will be a great launching pad for 1998.

Old rivals Collingullie and MangoplahCookardinia United are at it again this week.

The Demons' disappointing slide down the ladder should have them pumped up to hit the Goannas for six.

While the Goannas dipped out of the finals race a couple of weeks ago they will be keen to build on a season which has ended a bad trot for the club.

Since defecting to RFL the Goannas finally found some success this year and will gain plenty from that.

. Time is running out for North Wagga-RAAF to win their first game of the season. They try their luck against Coolamon this week.

Last weeks games were pretty well overshadowed by the century of goals brought up by Temora's best set of pearly whites, Victor "The Rock" Dunn.

Blue&WhiteslJ1)85 The Eighteens came back to earth with an almighty thud after

breaking their duck the week before. On the positive side, numbers were good again with some of the Under 15's who will graduate to 18's next year getting a ga~e und~r their b_elts. Players Player went to the improving Justin Carmichael, the consistent Matty Lowes won the coaches award while the socks went to young Warwick Parnell, who would be hard pressed to outweigh a pair of socks.

The Magoos put in a Barry Crocker to go down by 5 goals. Very few positives from this game other than the efforts of the 18s who backed up to help the Second~ out. Dean Coleman used his intimidating physical presence to win the Players Player, Matty Lower showed his potential while Snake, the Ghost and Pip Block were others who could hold their heads up. Time for everyone to put their hands up and turn things around.

The Ones put in one of their better efforts of recent weeks, with a starring performance from "The Rock" who booted 13 goals to rack up his ton. Players Player went to Timmy Byrnes, who absolutely worked his guts out. Matty Oerrick continued his outstanding year to win the BFB fuel, Victor got his evening kick started with the Westy award and the socks went to Colin Goesch (I think). Congrats to young Steven Drum who started what we hope will be a long career in the Blue and White with his senior debut.

No netball news from last week as the Gullie don't field teams.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Seconds mentor Brian Mitchell, who celebrated his 30th (no, he only looks 40) on Monday just gone. Mitch is one bloke who must wish his scalp was as plentiful as his back.

Don't forget the Funny Money night at the clubhouse after todays games, but first lets send the Bulldogs home with their tails between their legs.

The Club would like to extend its deepest sympathy to Phil and Cheryl Hill and family on their loss during the week.

The 1 st's came through with a terrific win against the Lions, Guy Weidemann took B.O.G. again this week, he is certainly playing top

footy. David Coupe has been in terrific form in the ruck and he won the Eagle Boys Pizza, the Haircut compliments of Smiley went to Jason Heald who is improving each week. The Bulldog Mug went to Craig Spencer for a top effort. Miltons Gear votes went to (7) Craig Spencer, (5) David Coupe, (3) Tony Stratton and singles to Jason Heald, Scott Bourne and Adrian Hill.

The Reserves returned to the winners list, but inaccurate kicking nearly cost them the game. It was great to see Woodsy and Terry Ness running around again. The Bulldog Mug went to David Muscat, the Eagle Boys Pizza to David Tucker and the Salon on Morgan to Andrew Boyd, Miltons Gear votes to Michael Flanigan (5), Rhys Kelly (4) and 3 each to David Tucker and Bobby Hart and singles to Gary Hoffman, Steven Woods and David Muscat.

The U18s with only 16 players recorded a big win with Andrew White winning the Ladies Auxiliary award, the Civic Video to Brendan Parker and the Eagle Boys Pizza to James Bowyer. Miltons Gear votes to Matt Paul (5), Andrew White, James Bowyer and Paul Francis 3 each, Jason Poulos and Darren Bowden 2 each.

The netballers played for double points and won all grades except C Grade which drew with Ganmain. The coach is a little concerned, so come on girls let's lift against Leeton and show your full potential. The Salon on Morgan went to Juniors "Super Coach" Catherine Lawson, she has the girls playingwell. Award in the Juniors: Phillipa Lancaster the Ladies Auxiliary award, Dry Cleaning to Courtney O'Conner. In C Grade the Bulldog Mug went to Georgia Dixon and the Dry Cleaning to Tanya Winterton. Pauline Charleson played very well in B Grade to win the Mug and the Dry Cleaning to Melissa Barklem. In A Grade the Bulldog Mug went to Sara Nixon and the Dry Cleaning to Kylie O'Connor. Don't forget girls you have kiosk duty this week so do your bit.

Coming attractions: Mystery Bus tour 26/7/97 and the Mock wedding 2/8/97.

Today we play Leeton and they will be cock-a-hoop after last weeks win so don't take them lightly. We invite Leeton to join us in the Jezza Room at the Club after the game for a few drinks and a chat.

Mr Weather has done it again, every time we go to Temora he seems to turn on his best effort.

In the footy we had mixed success, our Baby Demons led the way with a very good win. Dan Edwards gets to spend the Club

Cash award, the Silvalite Petrol award goes to Shane Atkinson, Tim Hansell will have his locks' trimmed at Salon Christie, Dane will keep the Fuller House in Coke this week and young Matty McClure is our Coaches Pet of the Week.

You had to be there to appreciate the Reserves, they were invaded by those Aliens again, it was more like a circus than a game of footy, you never seen so many blokes enjoying themselves, Heath (Roy) Bruckner won the Mug and the Crossroads Voucher, Peter Haby will take Joy to the Bistro 2000 and my Little Giant Joel Mellen gets the Video Ezy & 6 Pack award.

Now that's where the winning stopped. Our Firsts depleted with injuries didrft really

have a chance. Baz Mclachlan won the Mug-and the Dinner for two at the Ashmont Hotel, Brad Aiken had his pay packet boosted with the John Waring Endeavour Non Contract award. Josh Davis gets to spend the Club Cash award.

Don't forget our Mock Wedding next week. All those players with perpetual trophies please return ASAP.

This week we are home to MCU.Llet's do our club proud and have a real big go.

Last weekend turned out to be quite successful against our old foe North Wagga with wins being recorded in most games.

The Frists was a battle early on when North Wagga came out firing but the boys stuck to it and after

some strong encouragement from Merv at half time they kicked away to win by a large margin. The Mangoplah Farm Centre Mug was won by Wayne "Dorset'' Smith after his best game of the year. Brian Hawke had another good game to win the Don Tuckwell's Audio award while Chris Higgins got the 1 vote.

The 2nds perservered all day to record a well deserved win. Craig Gibson played his usual game trying hard all day, he won the Mangoplah Farm Centre Mug. The Southwest Stockfeeds award went to Ashley Creasy who is showing us what he can do when he wants to.

Tutty Report: Ripped Off!!! No awards given to Tutt and he couldn't even steal one.

Our U1 B's tried hard but went down in the end the boys are lacking a few so it was a good effort overall. The Civic Video award went to Tim Lawler while Hamish McMicking won the McKinnon St Hair Salon award.

Netball news and the girls had another successful week. In A grade the girls won after a hard fought game. the Mug was won by Yvette "Big Mouth" Stoll. The B grade girls recorded another big win and are progressing well towards the finals, the Mug wasn't given to anyone because they all played so well. Well done. Due to North Wagga not having a side the Juniors didn't play.

Onto the social scene and remember there are only three more games to pay for the Player Auction, see Kym or Christie, also remember your book of raffle tickets. Don't forget the Sportsmen's Night next Saturday. Tickets have been reduced to $20 per head and $40 a double with children under 16 free on a family ticket.

Today we venture to the Crossroads. Let's bring home the points.

A good solid win would be the best way to describe it, although we appeared in control for most of the game we never really had the

Just like something out of "Worlds Dumbest Criminals", a well known underground figure has organised a Gangster and Villian fancy dress party for tonight as our after match social theme. So pull out your sub-machine guns and violin cases and head down to the Wade Sports Club and strut your stuff to "Jail House Rock".

The club has decide to change the format of the Presentation Night this year. Due to the Dark Town Strutters Ball being after our last home and away game, it was decided that a combined Vote Count & Presentation Night (October 18, Wade Club) would be the go, but trying to keep the night well streamlined into the bargain.

We continue the tradition by bringing you once again our annual Dark Town Strutter Ball to be held at the Leeton Soldiers Club on Saturday the 30th of August. The last two have been doozeys with hundreds attending a great night out. So put that date down as your number one priority, we guarantee you wont be disappointed. Supper etc. will be provided and table bookings and ticket purchases can be made at the Soldiers Club. Tickets are $20 a single and $35 a double if bought before the 28th.

We would like to welcome our near neighbours Narrandera to Davis Sanders Oval for what I'm sure will be a interesting encounter. But it must be said that we have copped some real hidings off the Eagles in recent times and it would be really great if we could return the favour in all grades at home in front of our parochial supporters.

So go you "DAVIS SANDERS HOMES" Crows

Our U18s continue to push towards the top of their competition, but the Lions were far too strong last week in the Seniors and Reserves.

The Seniors award winners last week were tracksuit to Brad Smith, boxer shorts to Justin Male, socks

to Andrew Driscoll and dinner at the Bidgee to Bill Hutchins. Slave auction votes went to Bill Hutchins, Justin Male and Brad Smith.

The 2nds had a great first quarter but the more experienced Lions players were able to control the play for the rest of the match to score a big win. Award winners: James Trengrove ($20), Dwayne Mathews ($15) and Graham Flynn ($10) with Simon Absolom picking up the Beaurepaires award.

The U18s had a little more than a training run against the Lions but have to work harder this week if they are to beat the young Crows. The Robinsons Dept Store voucher went to Tim Zak, the Barry and Helen Royal awards went to Dave Sheather and Courtney Sullivan! the George's Bakehouse awards went to Pat Sullivan and Dean Hopwood while Brett Powell won the Barkers Dry Cleaners award.

· Three of the four netball teams recorded wins with the U15s being beaten by an older more experienced team. The best players were Charlie Male, Kim Hugo and Yvette O'Donohue in A grade. Liz Shady, Toni Osmond and Jodie Bloomfield in B grade and Brooke Christie, Alicia Irons and Rachael Hyde in C grade, while Kimberly Morris, Cara Ash and Cathy Sullivan all played well in the Juniors.

This week we have the short trip to play the Crows who always provide stiff opposition in football and netball. All players and supporters are welcome back at the Imperial clubrooms after the game for refreshments and a meal before the announcement of the weekly award winners.

■ ~fter a slow start we gradually

got mto gear to have a big win over Narrandera. Steven Carroll won the Sports Club award, Stephen Smith won the Brittons Towel award as

Red,Blue,Goldaest well as the Bridge Tavern dinner. The Wagga First Aid mug went to

Anthony Carroll. Miltons Gear votes: 3 Anthony Carroll, 2 Steven Carroll, 1 Greg Menzies.

The Reserves also had an easy win with Brandon Ryan winning the Bowling Club award, Phil Hatty the Ganmain Store towel and Glen Evans the Webbers Dinner.

The U18s were well beaten, with Brandon Ryan winning the club towel, Nathan McPherson the Four Hotels award and the socks to Chris Kelly.

Our U13s bowed out in the preliminary final, but our mighty little U11 s won their way into the grand final. Congratulations, and the best to astute coach Barry Noble and his boys.

Don't forget the annual show next Saturday, so plenty of workers are required for the Luncheon Booth and barbecue.

Silver Circle draws 15 & 16: 383 Peter McCaig and Peter Corbett, 58 Rupe Richardson., 313 J McPherson and B Logan, 1 Mick Howe, 186 Peg Guthrie, 341 Reg Kerr and Athol Longley.

The A Grade netballers came up against a very physical Narrandera side, but battled hard all game. Excellent attacking game by Shannon and Tanya with the mug going to Renee. B Grade also went down to a strong side. Mug winner was Lisa O'Brien. C Grade combined well, however the hooter beat them by one goal. All played well with the mug going to Leanne Corbett. Juniors were our saving grace with a good win. An excellent team effort with the socks going to Renee Lucas and Jo Walsh winning the hat.

This week we host the East Wagga Hawks.

Today we will start off with a catch up with some netball news. Last week in A Grade with insufficient points to gain any points on the ladder. Aunty of Josh McPherson been awarded the Pewter not knowing Michelle she would have been very humble and

gracious in accepting this award on such a prestigious night. After seeing Simone with the Pewter the previous week in A Grade Louise Louttit came up trumps in B Grade to grab her little bit of glory. In C Grade showing the way with her agility and gracefulness, Lyn Bourne getting the nod for the Pewter here. The previous week Kath Bourne was the recipient of the B Grade Pewter, Louise Neville the C Grade. Tania Darcy's Tee Dee's Haircut award was held over for this week expecting something out of the ordinary. But alas nothing so it was given to Tom Gorham for something he did. I blinked so I don't know what it was.

How do you write about three drubbings in the footbal,I so I won't. The Awards being Under 1 B's Coke and Bag to Ryan Payne. Argweld socks to Justin Skews, McDonalds Voucher to Clint Campbeli.

Magoos Breust Pewter to Dan Millman, Cornell fuel to Dicky Dunkley Williams. Miller Truck socks to Leigh Collins. The First Grade Pewter and William Farrer Bistro to Damian Graham. Sportsmans Warehouse to Tom Gorham and the Eagle Boys Pizza to new dad Michael McPherson. Who by the way made his dad Grant proud for the 2nd time in two weeks. First being making him a grandpop and the second was when Mick picked up the Player Auction award. After finding out his future father-inlaw was part of picking this, Michael was very surprised. But after thinking about it had a little giggle to himself, because Barry would have known, Michael gets nothing out of it.

A good time by all last week at the Ball. A few old faces were seen. A very successful night. To those who missed it, bad luck. Our last gathering besides the Presentation night is our Vote Count on the 31st of this month. After North Wagga for those who have not got a calendar. Previously this has been a good day with a few laughs and BBQ supplied. This week to Ganmain and please give me something to write about.

FARRER LEAGUE D ~itorialsr

Tomorrow night, at the Jezza Room of the Riverina Australian Football Club, the Mercantile Mutual Farrer League will conduct their annual Presentation Night. At this function, votes will be counted in the Seniors and Reserves best and fairest awards and presentations of the Medals will be made to the winners. Players likely to be leading in contention for the most prestigious of awards, the Clear Medal, are, to name but a few, Cootamundra's champion forward, Phil Guthrie; Ardlethan's brothers, Matthew and David Currie; The Rock-Yerong Creek's form centreman, Lee Brown; outstanding Ariah Park-Mirool ruck-rover, Robbie Harper; Marrar's ubiquitous Brendan Kearney; Rivcoll defender, Kane McGregor and South Wagga-Tolland's retiring coach, David Pocock. Perhaps, only Uranquinty-Kapooka, because of their lack of onfield success this season will, not provide a player high on the list of votewinners, as judged by the central umpires who have adjudicated throughout the home-and-away series of games.

Awards which have already been decided are those going to the leading goalkickers in the two grades, and the Club Championship Shield. Cootamundra's John Read has won the Trevor Urquhart Trophy for the Seniors' goal kicking for the second year in two, although his tally this season was not a patch on his 150-plus of last year. In the Reserves, the K & J Trophies award will go to

Rivcoll's Mario Vujadinovic. The Champion Club of 1997 is Marrar, as it was in 1995, the year that Marrar was Premier in both Seniors and Reserves. Could this be an omen!?!

Again, each club will provide an entrant in the Miss Farrer League Princess Quest, adding a touch of class to the evening. Each of the clubs were given a quota of tickets to sell for the night, which is sure to be highly successful, especially with the new standard of male dress being requested.

Today, of course, sees the commencement of the finals series, which will involve the same four clubs as last year in the Seniors, namely Marrar, The Rock-Yerong Creek, Ariah Park-Mirool and Cootamundra. In the Reserves, the four teams involved are from Cootamundra, Marrar, Ariah ParkMirool and Rivcoll, the latter taking the place of TRYC, the only one of last -year's Reserves' top four to miss out this year.

However, in both grades, the order is slightly different from that of last season, with Cootamundra meeting Ariah Park-Mirool in the Seniors' first semifinal and Rivcoll playing Ariah Park-Mirool in the Reserves.

All the Farrer finals matches this year will be staged at Wagga Wagga's Maher Oval, and, as has become the practice over the years, the catering rights will be shared amongst the Clubs whose turn it is to do just that.

Hopefully, the finals can be played in good weather, in good spirit and before good crowds. Even if your team has missed the finals, it's important that the finals series be well supported.

After today's semi-finals, only three teams will remain in each of the grades' premiership quest, as the losers will bow out of contention. Who will they be??

RIVERINA UMPIRES ASSOCIATION

FFL

Well I'm back again after anoth.er break in Sunny Queensland. This time however, it was work commitments which meant I had to travel north, causing the notes to be missing for a couple of weeks.

My last report occurred on the eve of the Association Trivia Night. Unfortunately only a small number of people fronted, but it did not stop those who did from having a good night and I don't think anyone left without winning something. The free drinks tasted pretty good, and who could forget budding comedian come pseudo compere Craig "Smoky" Heathcote's outstanding line up of tragic jokes. As to the main winners on the night, Tim Beard proved he is more than just an outstanding umpire by leading his table to a runaway win. (1 point if I recall correctly from Smokies mob) Tim, I hope you and your partners enjoy your meal at the "Rules".

This weekend sees the beginning of the Farrer · League finals series at Maher Oval, Wagga. At this time of the year things are hotting up as far competing for appointments at the selection table. As Frate said at training on Tuesday night not everyone will be happy with the selections, (understandably) but there will be plenty of jobs around for those who miss out on central position so let's keep the heads up guys.

THE ROCK-VERONG CREEK Club Notes

Even though we are not playing this week I will still bore you with some useful and some useless information in and around the Club.

The curtain came down on the Magoos last week and with it the end of Smokeys playing career. He has been an ornament to the game and the Club and his contribution will always be respected. The· same can be said for Macca who I think has decided to let Scotty do the job for .the family. Well done both of you. The awards last week were: Libbys Takeaway Mug - Mick Williams. The Porky & Verdo Mug - Smokey. The Riverina Spraying Service Socks - Wayne Jones and the Ladies $1 o awards to Rod Merrills and Joel Poole.

The Firsts came home like a poor relation to swamp Coota in the last 1 O minutes. It was a terrific performance and was just the hitout needed going into the 2nd semi. I know we can keep that momentum going. The awards were: The Rock Butchery Mug -

Shane Brown. The R.A.F.C Mug - Ricky Fitzsimmons. The Riverina Spraying Service Socks - Lewis Winter. The Amateur awards: $40 Andrew Taylor and $20 Marc Bauer.

The Players Calcutta has now been finalised and placing's are as follows. 1st was Leroy who was owned by Hawko, Nigel and Sandman and they took the $1190 first. 2nd was Others who was owned by Greg Brain and he got $340. 3rd was Lewis who was owned by Jimmy Jones and he got $170.

By now our Club B & F would be know and well done to the winners. Two reminders - those going to the League Medal count get your tickets and those who have books in the Monster Meat raffle please return them by 30th August. I'll have more to say next week.

MERCANTILE MUTUAL M.V.A.F.A. FARRER LEAGUE

FIRST SEMI-FINAL PREVIEW by Jock Currie

This afternoon draws together the teams which finished third and fourth after the Farrer League's home-and-away series of games, namely Ariah Park-Mirool and Cootamundra, to do battle in the first semi-final. With no prize for second in this elimination final, there's sure to be no love lost between the combatants, the "Brown Bombers" and the "Blues".

The two have met twice this season in the competition matches with honours going the way of the APM team on each occasion. When they met at Ariah Park in the opening game of the year, the home side was a clear winner by a margin of 45 points. Although that margin was somewhat reduced at Cootamundra, the Brown Bombers were still up at final siren time by 21 points.

The two sides have met only once before in a Senior Finals match, and that was in last year's Preliminary final, also won by Ariah Park-Mirool. On the basis of those statistics, the Brown Bombers must start once again as favourites.

Form in the last couple of weeks of each of the clubs still has APM in front, but then their victims of successive victories were South Wagga-Tolland and Uranquinty-Kapooka, the bottom two sides. Cootamundra, on the other hand, have had two winless weeks but a draw with Ardlethan and a nine-point loss to TRYC at The Rock, perhaps have given the Blues tougher conditioning ready for today's encounter.

Both teams have key players who will be looked to for big performances. Undoubtedly the "gun" at Cootamundra is Phil Guthrie, but there are also the likes of John Read, Matt Conway, Mark Snowden, Mark Birks and the tried-and-tested duo of Brent Milthorpe and Mark Annetts. One can't go past Robbie Harper as the standout player for Ariah Park-Mirool, but in recent weeks the form of big John Raczkowski in front of goals has been most pleasing. As well, you can bet that the "Brown

Bombers" will be given good service by experienced finals' campaigners, captain-coach, Brett Page, and centreman-cum-forward, Terry Greenham. Temora recruit, Dallas McKelvie will also be expected to play an important role at centre half forward.

Much of the Blues hopes will depend on how well the key defenders, young Jeremy Jaques, at fullback, and centre half back, Simon Roberts perform against the APM trumps, Raczkowski and McKelvie, respectively.

Of course, Blues fans would tend to say the key to the game will be how well APM backmen, Andrew Schmetzer and Grant Ryan can curb the efforts of John Read and big Mark Snowden. Both sides have found, in recent weeks, effective goal sneaks to support the key forwards that their teams boast. In the last two games, Coota's Dean Cooper has kicked twelve goals, whilst Mal Hillier in his first Senior game after a long injury spell, kicked six last Saturday.

I have a feeling that the Blues would love to go one step further than last year, but they may not even get as far. APM have had all the answers to the Blues in their last three meetings and I suspect that they'll be too good, overall, once again. Whoever does emerge the winner shouldn't alter the fact that supporters should enjoy a top game of football at League head-quarters today.

In the curtain-raiser, the Brown Bombers are again involved, but in this match their opponent is Rivcoll. I'm one who can remember the tremendous "Bushµig Spirit' which took the students to the '78 CAL Seniors premiership, and although that was a "heck of a long time ago" if that spirit emerges again it wouldn't surprise to see the "Pigs" eliminate the '96 premiers from this year's premiership quest. There's an abundance of talent on show in this match and early patrons should enjoy a top contest.

world on fire.

Another wasted opportunity in Seniors was the result of last weeks outing to The Rock.

In Reserves we faired better recording a comfortable win although once again not setting the

Awards went to Mark An netts (Albion $20), Mark Birks ($10), Jeremy Jaques (Colour Connections Haircut) & Phil Guthrie (Mug) in Seniors and Scott Roberts ($20), Steve Roberts ($1 O), Shawn McNally (Pizza & Pasta award) & Mick Johnson (Mug).

In netball the B graders finished their season in style with a good win with Jenny Reid the Mug winner & the A graders fine tuning for the finals winning well with Kirsty May taking out the Mug.

Of course a big night at the Farrer League Vote Count tomorrow & we wish our contenders and Princess Peta Milthorpe all the best.

A reminder to all ticket holders that the draw of the Clubs major raffle is on at the Clubrooms tonight.

Also next Saturday night we will be conducting our own Vote Count also at the clubrooms which as usual should be a night not to be missed.

Of course it's finals footy today for our Seniors & hopefully the first step in our campaign.

RIVCOLL CLUB NOTES A good day last weekend against the Stars, winning

four out of five grades. 2nds warmed up for their finals campaign with a comfortable 134 point win. Best was that old man Gerard O'Leary, who marked his 50th game with the Club with some uncharacteristic hangs, and the odd goal. Scott Heyes continued his fine season with a strong display in the centre, with other good players being Shannon Bell, Barry Duncan, Shane Dalsell and to BJ's disappointment, Craig Roberts.

1 sts ended an improved season in disappointin•g fashion, going down by 55 points. Best was Kane McGregor who again dominated in the midfield. Paul Scullar capped a fine season with another solid performance, while others to impress were Ben Jennings, Jason Knight and David Finnimore.

Our netballers finished the home and away season as minor premiers in all 3 Grades, defeating Ardlethan

in all matches last week. Cat Hams was best for C Grade, Leanne Baker received the Mug for B Grade, while Serene Dickens was best for A Grade.

Get well wishes to Kane McGregor and Nathan Bond, who have spent time in hospital after incurring footy injuries in the last week. Congratulations to Phil Willis who managed his maiden skull on Monday night and also to Craig Roberts and nm Goonan who saw the writing on the wall Monday night.

Don't forget all 3 grades of netball play next Saturday at Maher Oval - get there and support them. Today it's 2nds first finals appearance in 4 years. I'm sure with a committed team effort, the boys can progress. So until Wes finds his clothes, Sparksy finds a clue, Goey finds composure and we find our long lost mascot pig ..... Here's to the joy of September footy in August. GO YOU MIGHTY MAGOOS!!!!
