Look at Your Client’s Leadership CircleResults Before You Debrief Them

Notice what their 360 evokes inyou, and pay attention to yourresponse to the results.Don’t assume that yourresponse is “true” or “right”, butdon’t discount your responseeither.

The client is the expert on their own life.

The best way to help someonemake sense out of their results is

to know more about them.

The client is the expert on their own life.

Common assumption by a coach: Mostleaders are arrogant and would likelyoverestimate their creative leadershipqualities and underestimate theirreactive tendencies. What would really be arrogant, would befor the coach to assume that they knowwhat the pro!le means for the client inabsence of knowing more about theclient and hearing their story!

You know a lot about the frameworksthat underpin the 360.

Use what you know about the journey from reactive to creative, the pathways, tensions and gifts inherent in the profile framework, the creative tension model and the adult development journey todance with the client and their profile now that you know moreabout them.Your self-awareness is key here. Notice how the client is beingwith you right now: how does it reflect what you see in the profile?Sometimes itʼs not as much about the extent of the gap betweenthe scores, as it is about the pattern, or exceptions to the pattern.Of course, the coachʼs willingness to name what they are noticing, even when it would be easier or more comfortable not to
