WHAT IS THE MIND?
Ability to think & choose
Given & fashioned by God
Understand truths known in our spirits & wires them into our brain
Change the physical reality of the brain to reflect our choices
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MIND & THE
BRAIN?
The mind and the brain are not one in the same
Simplified perspective: brain = hardware; mind = software
Mind is manifestation of thought, perception, emotion, determination, imagination
Brain is a physical organ
Brain is the vessel in which the electronic impulses that create thought are contained
Your body (brain) is not in control of your mind, but the other way around
It is MIND over matter.
WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT OUR MINDS…
There are several scriptures that provide us with insight into what we are to do with our minds

THOUGHTS & CIRCUMSTANCES
James Allen (1864 - 1912)
“A man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstances.”
We cannot control events and circumstances in life, but we can control our reaction to those events and circumstances
Matthew 7:13-14
Galatians 6:7-8
IN THE WORDS OF JAMES ALLEN
“Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of his life. Men imagine that thought can be kept secret, but it cannot, it rapidly crystalizes into habit, and habit solidifies into circumstances.”
Fear = Failure
Hate = Injury
THOUGHT EXERCISE

75-98% of ALL illnesses are rooted in our thoughts
80% of all cancers are connected to our thoughts
THOUGHTS AFFECT MIND, BODY, & SPIRIT
THOUGHTS AFFECT MIND, BODY, & SPIRIT
James Allen
“The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed”
“Out of a clean heart comes a clean life and a clean body. Out of a defiled mind proceeds a defiled life and a corrupt body.”
