Take-home resources include a 140-page manual, information sheets and facts sheets will also be provided. The course has been developed by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and is delivered by Rosie Overfield from Provet/Crampton Consulting. Rosie is an accredited MHFA instructor and has worked in the veterinary industry for nearly 20 years. Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or who is experiencing a mental health crisis. Like physical first aid, mental health first aid is given until the person receives professional help or until the crisis resolves. Who can attend an MHFA course? Cost Veterinarians, veterinary nurses, practice managers, students and new graduates. AVA in partnership with Provet, VNCA, BOQ Specialist, ARH and Greencross Vets is supporting this initiative. The cost to attend this course will be $495 which will cover instructor fees, manual, course materials, certification, catering and other mental health support information.
