From Mendeley Desktop, install MS Word plugin

If the installation is successful, you’ll see this screen. Click ‘OK’.

Open MS Word. You’ll see the Mendeley Cite-O-Matic under the ‘References’ tab

Click ‘Insert Citation’. A window will pop-up. Click ‘Go To Mendeley’. This will open your Mendeley Desktop.

Find the reference you want to cite. Select it and click on ‘Cite’.

Your in-text citation will be inserted. Continue writing your paper. Then to insert the end-of-text references, click ‘Insert Bibliography’.

The full references will appear. To change the citation style, use the ‘Style’ dropdown menu.
