Three paths to fresh water.

KSB provides reliable solutions to support all three standard methods of extracting fresh water from the sea:

1. RO (Reverse Osmosis) pumps seawater at very high pressure through selectively permeable membranes, separating salts from the water.

2. MSF (Multistage Flash) is a rapid evaporation process, in which seawater is flashed-heated into steam and condensed.

3. MED (Multiple Effect Distillation) passes seawater through evaporators in multiple stages which is systematically condensed at low temperatures and pressures.

Whatever method is applied, KSB is able to leverage extensive experience in the energy field to optimize operations, maximize performance and ensure the lowest costs for energy and maintenance.
