There are lots of updates to share with our membership this
month! Many of these items could easily encompass a whole
page of this newsletter, so please do not hesitate to contact me
or any member of the Board of Governors with questions and
comments. First, we would like to thank you for the support you’ve shown to Club employee, Terry Baldwin. As a
membership, we have raised over $14,000 to help Terry’s
family with ongoing medical expenses. Unfortunately, at time
of writing this letter, Terry is once again in the hospital
undergoing additional treatments and testing. Your continued
thoughts, prayers, and financial contributions are appreciated.
In last month’s newsletter we indicated a strong financial
performance for the first 11 months of 2015 and were confident that December would bring a solid
finish to an incredible year. I’m pleased to tell you that forecast came to fruition, and we ended the
year with a profit of $100K compared to a budgeted profit of $28K.We’ll be sending out the quarter-
ly financials with your month-end statement, but in summary the Club excelled in F&B and golf revenues for December and enjoyed slightly better performances to budget in almost all other de-
partments.
All members are encouraged to attend our Open House on Tuesday, February 2nd anytime between
6-8pm. Additional details on anticipated capital projects will be mailed and e-mailed to each house-
hold prior to the meeting. At this Open House, renderings and details of proposed projects including:
short game practice facility, fitness center expansion (short- and long- term), parking lot resurfacing,
and pool enhancements will be available for members to review and provide feedback. For those
unable to attend, an electronic summary of the renderings and details will be made available on the
website and through e-mail distribution. It’s important that the Club continues to make enhance-
ments and updates in order to stay relevant and to attract new members.
We recently receive our report following a site visit from the USGA Greens Section. They were here
to provide a third party, unbiased opinion and grade each of our greens on the golf course and prac-
tice putting green. The report can be found on the website. Further communications on the findings
of this report will be shared in an upcoming letter from the Club.
And, there are more exciting projects happening in the very near future! Digital reader boards will
soon be replacing the current display boards. There will be one at each guard gate entrance plus one
along the driveway entrance of the Club. Additionally, we are in the testing phase with our mobile
phone app which will soon be available for members to download (for free) via android or apple for
your smart phone. Also, new lockers are arriving for the men’s locker room which will accommo-
date members on a waiting list and create more options regarding size and location of lockers. Men, stop by and visit Frank in the locker room – he’s in a great mood now that we’ve taken care of the
wait list!
Another date for you to mark on your calendar is the annual meeting- scheduled for Tuesday, March
29th at 6pm. Our Nominating Committee is in the process of interviewing potential board members
to replace those completing their terms: Malou Howland, Stephanie Harris, and Rob Schleiter. This
is also the time of year that members join and leave committees. We will continue with the format
from 2015 of asking members to complete a short application form if they are interested in serving
on a committee. Those forms will be on the website, in the admin offices, and will be available via e
-mail by contacting [email protected].
2015 was a great year at the Club, and we’re enjoying a great start to 2016! We appreciate the sup-
port of all our members and look forward to all of the exciting happenings and growth this year and
beyond.
See you at the Club,
Paul Craven

Ladies’ Club Champs, Mr. & Mrs. Club Champs, Presidents Cup Singles & 2-Man Match Play Events, and Men’s & Ladies’ Senior
Club Champs. Entry fee for each individual event will be $55. Don’t miss this great value to participate in multiple events for ONE
entry fee of $45. 2016 kicks off with the Presidents Cup Men’s Singles Match Play Pre-Qualifying February 6th & 13th.
EAGLES: 12/23 - Larry Jordan recorded a very elusive Eagle on the fir st hole of the day to kick off his round. His “3” on hole #1
came after a well holed 3rd shot using a wedge. Congrats!
Hole-In-One: 1/14 - Mary McCann made her fir st ace as a r elatively new JGCC member on hole #12. She recorded her “1” to a back
pin location after what appeared to be a very good shot to a blind spot on the green using her 6-hybrid club from 138 yards.
She also had a chip-in birdie during the round and broke 80 for the first time after having shoulder surgery on both shoulders!
Congratulations!
1/21 - Kathy Burns r ecorded her “1” on hole #3 using a 3-metal wood from 124 yards. One would say she and Kay
Lemmon are good luck charms to each other. Kay witnessed this ace for Kathy and a while back Kathy witnessed Kay’s
ace during her round. Great Shot!
9-Holer News & Updates
The nine-hole golf group is more than a group of ladies playing golf! When the weather keeps us off the course, we find other fun things to
do together. Just last week we enjoyed a game of Mexican Train Dominoes. If you are interested in joining us for this fun, indoor game,
please contact Shannon Stanley for more details. In addition to our Thursday golf game, we are going to play Mexican Train
Dominoes once a month.
We don't have to go to New Orleans to get Mardi Gras beads! We only need to play golf at the first 9-hole interclub of the year held at the Palencia Golf Club on Monday, February 8th. The sign-up is on the
bulletin board in the golf shop. Click here for more details. Can’t wait to see you each Thursday at 9am for nine holes of golf!

Participants from the November event will be contacted directly, and any other teams that have interest in participating are encouraged to call 223-6910 to sign up to play!
Spring Couples Golf League has been losing momentum for quite a while over the last few seasons for a variety of reasons affecting the group as a whole. As a result, the golf professionals are currently working on an alternative program for couples’ golf going forward. Please look for communications regarding suggested offerings in upcoming emails, phone calls and postings around the club. The golf pros recognize there is certainly an interest and a need for couples to have a forum to play organized golf throughout the year.
Upcoming March Events: 3/6-8 - UNF Women Ospreys Collegiate Invitational 3/12 - MGA Event 3/16 - Men’s E-9 Kickoff
3/18-20 - 2nd Annual San-Jax Challenge Cup 3/22 & 3/29 - LGA Member-Member
