WHAT OUR MEMBERS SAY

ANNAH BUSERI Risk Manager, Niger Delta Peace Initiative & Development

As a risk practitioner, I was able to share my experience through the Member Profile feature in stronger. Given the complexity of risk management in different sectors and industries, it’s very interesting to read other expert experience, especially descriptions of situations, events and circumstances, as well as response, recovery and lessons learned.

ALISON WEIR Risk and Insurance Manager, Corporate Services, Warrington Borough Council

stronger is an excellent and engaging resource for anyone with an interest in public sector risk management or insurance. Full of interesting, topical and timely articles, I always find something of relevance to my role. It’s well presented and easily accessible, which is great for busy people. Provided as part of my ALARM membership it’s also great value for money.

JANE COOPER Risk & Business Continuity Team Leader, Shropshire Council

I have been a member of ALARM for approximately 13 years now and have been involved in regional and national events throughout that time. In an ever-changing professional environment ALARM provides a forum to access the most up-to-date practices and guidance for risk and insurance professionals. ALARM also provides the opportunity to access relevant training, and attendance at events. The member network regionally and nationally provides you with a great source of information and the foundations to build great professional relationships and friendships.

SUE RUDDOCK Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager, Transport for Wales

ALARM has helped me immensely. The support network is invaluable, giving you the ability to call on other members and sponsors for help and advice. The seminars have been extremely useful and always very relevant to my day-to-day role.

KAREN SEABRIGHT Insurance Commissioning Manager, Worcestershire County Council

As well as the availability of the ALARM Conference, the regions offer high quality events. I don’t just say as a member of a regional committee, but I do see first-hand how events are put together, how the topical and emerging issues are identified and the advantage in exploring those issues to the benefit of a wider group. My experience is that being involved in a region builds you long-standing and close contacts.

PENELOPE PAGE Risk & Resilience Advisor, Hampshire Constabulary

ALARM has given me a fantastic networking ability to not just other blue light services, but the public sector as a whole, where I have been able to challenge some of my thinking when setting strategies and understanding risks.

CHRIS CLARK Risk Management Officer, North Yorkshire Council

Winning the 2019 Operational Award has provided a real boost to the members of our team and the wider council involved in risk management.

DAVID FORSTER Insurance Claims Handler, Doncaster Council

As a relative newcomer to the world of risk and insurance, I welcomed the opportunity to attend the 2019 ALARM Conference. The daily sessions have always been well presented, engaging and highly informative and the networking and development opportunities that were presented to me have proven to be invaluable over the course of my career

CAROLYN HALPIN Senior Assurance Manager, Thirteen

ALARM is fundamentally a means to share, compare and learn with the greatest of access to experts and peers in the risk management environment. I joined to learn nearly 30 years ago and it remains as relevant today as it was then, and I continue to learn and share with the ALARM family on a regular basis.

DEBBIE BOWRING, Principal Risk Officer, Lincolnshire County Council

The ALARM Conference is thought-provoking, educational and a good source for networking and sharing ideas with like-minded people. It is also an excellent way to have the chance to enter an award, helping the industry to have something to aim for and receive recognition. The Conference, as a whole is the highlight of the year.
