We saw Magic Tony make the bird from the picture

come alive and become a real bird! Moni yr 4

He had a ‘box of nothing’ which was completely empty—until he pulled out ten more boxes. At the end there was still an-

other item—his pet guinea pig! Scarlett, yr 3

I liked the little bunny. He had four bunnies altogeth-er, plus a guinea pig and a

dove Cooper, yr 1

My favourite part was when the little girl went on stage on she had breath in and breath out and some coins came out of her bot-

tom. Oliver yr 1

I enjoyed the card trick when he put the deck of

cards in his mouth and then they all came out and went into the hat.

I enjoyed it when Magic Tony made the balloon

animals—the dog was the best.

Faith yr 2

I really liked it when the cards came out of his

mouth— it was really fun-ny!

Jason, yr 4

My favourite part was really the whole show. It was really good to have a magic act—it was different to the

other shows we have seen.

Isabell yr5

I really enjoyed it when the bird came off the pic-ture and turned into a real bird. The man was really

funny. Jade, yr 3

He was pretty funny!

Tom, yr 5

My favourite part was when he made the girl have coins come

out from her bottom!

Brody, yr 3

Yesterday we went to Tyrrell to see Magic To-ny. It was really funny

when the rabbit wouldn’t let Magic Tony make

him disappear!

Charlie, yr 2

At Sea Lake on Tuesday we saw Magic Tony form

Kids WB. He was a magi-cian who has been all

around the globe. Dylan, yr 5

This time we got to see a magician—he was really very good and he had a great sense of humour—

there was lots of little jokes all through his

act.

I liked the trick when he turned the $10 note into a $50 note.

He made funny jokes and when he hit the painting the bird came alive and flew off

the page. Paddy, yr 6

P&F President’s Report 8th March

It is hard to believe that we are into the seventh week of Term 1. With just over two weeks remaining I would like to thank and congratulate the staff for a terrific start to school. The students have had a wonderful experience with the school swimming program which has included instruction from Trish Torpey and experience at swimming in a 50 metre pool in Swan Hill. Students have also been fortunate to be involved with film making in Hopetoun and Nexus Arts in Sea Lake. A leadership camp, AFL Clinic and whole school excursion to the 52 Storey Tree House will certainly finish off a busy term. Our students are lucky to be provided with the variety of experiences at WGS, these activities happen from the hard work, dedication and

enthusiasm staff place into our children's education.

I would like to officially thank all the school families and staff who assisted with the set up, coordination, and pack up of the Swimming Sports held during February. A day like the swimming sports can not run smoothly without the assistance of the school staff and families. It was also wonderful to have many grandparents and extended family members help out on the day. Thank

you for your support.

I would also like to acknowledge our special friends of the school Maree Barbary, Jan & Robert Adcock and Mark Keenen who assisted with the running on the day. We are fortunate to have generous people within our community who are willing to lend a hand and volunteer with the running of events such as the Swimming

Sports.

Our meeting today will focus on planning fundraising for the semester one. Parents and Friends have been provided with the opportunity to supply “lunch packs” for the Women on Farm Gathering in Hopetoun on the

18th, 19th & 20th of March. This catering is a great opportunity to fundraise funds for our group from a organisation outside of our local community. We will also be discussing other fundraising ideas such as a pie drive through Sharp’s Bakery and a welcome tea for staff and families of the school. “Our Town Products” continue to sell and we will be looking at restocking some of these items

during the year.

Parents and Friends welcome all school families to attend their meetings and participate with fundraising ideas and community events. If you would like to attend one of our

meetings please check the newsletter for upcoming dates.
