DEXTER Sway Control System Enhances SafetyA huge gust of wind, displaced airflow from a passing semi trailer, or a sudden swerve causing trailers and caravans to sway dangerously, possibly resulting in a loss of control of both the tow vehicle and trailer. Dexter Axle provides peace of mind with Dexter Sway Control, a safety device that automatically stabilises the sway of a trailer or caravan, keeping you in control.

How Dexter Sway Control Worksn Continuously monitors trailer yaw – side-to-side movement, left and right of the tow vehicle.

n Powerful, rapid processing capability captures the critical elements that affect sway conditions, then uses the information to sense how the sway will proceed without driver intervention.

n Uses the data collected in the event of sway to apply the brakes on the correct side of the trailer in a timely manner and with the proper braking level required based on sway conditions.

n Works independently of the tow vehicle to dampen the trailer sway, quickly bringing the trailer under control.

DEXTER TORFLEX AXLES

INDEPENDENT RUBBER TORSION SUSPENSION AXLESThe Torflex suspension system is a torsion arm type suspension which is completely self contained within the axle tube. It attaches directly to the chassis frame using brackets which are an integral part of the axle assembly. The Torflex axle provides improved suspension characteristics relative to leaf spring axles through the unique arrangement of a steel torsion bar surrounded by four natural rubber cords encased in the main structural member of the axle beam.The wheel/hub spindle is attached to a lever, called the torsion arm, which is fastened to the rubber encased bar. As load is applied, the bar rotates causing a rolling/compressive resistance in the rubber cords. This rotating action provides the same functionality as conventional sprung axles with several operating advantages including independent suspension.Except for periodic inspection of the fasteners used to attach the Torflex axle to the vehicle frame, no other suspension maintenance is required on Torflex axle. They are, of course, subject to the maintenance and inspection procedures regarding brakes, hubs, bearings, seals, wheels and tires as outlined in the Dexter Maintenance Service Manual.

DEXTER M35 TUBE AXLE


The Dexter M35 Light weight tube axle is a sophisticated modern axle. It is aimed at reducing weight through modern engineering with high quality tube steel, whilst boasting superior strength through forged stubs. The M35 provides a 1590kg carrying capacity per axle and is easily maintained with the Dexter exclusive “E-Z Lube” feature as standard. It is increasingly popular with manufacturers looking to deliver optimum performance whilst minimising weight and lowering maintenance costs. All these features come at a value for money price.

Comparing the M35 tube axle to a solid beam axle in tandem configuration weight saving is approximately 48kg, or 24kg per axle.
